I am for the first time going naked with the iPhone , its beautiful design why cover that up with a Bulky case or ugly looking screen protector, I have insurance through sprint and I have Apple care, so If i drop it break it lose it or its gets stolen I am covered

This is what i am doing as well i am following the same approach i am going all naked with the iphone 6. The curvatures on the iphone 6 front panel does not beg for a screen protector and it will only ruin the experience.

I've always used screen protectors ... I've never noticed a difference in screen quality and usability with a screen protectors but it definitely helps to avoid accidental scratches. Most people don't even realize a protector is on. Not sure why you wouldn't put one on considering how inexpensive they are now.

Sorry for the shoddy picture, but yeah... I'd still recommend a screen protector.

Wish Apple used a sapphire screen on the 6 - shattering is much less on an issue that scratching in my opinion.

How scratch resistant is the iPhone 6 plus screen?

If you feel compelled to get some sort screen protection and still want to glide across glass, the zagg glass protector is a viable option. I'm going caseless with this screen protector and it is really smooth and gives "some" peace of mind.

AGREED! there is no difference in quality, unless you use some sort of antiglare or matte protector. I use a crystal clear protector.

The 6+ screen DOES NOT scratch with NORMAL USE. If it does scratch then the owner is an idiot!!!!11!11!1111111

/fanboy

Got a small hairline stratch on my 6, I am extremely careful with my phone - probably happened when some dirt got caught when I was cleaning my screen - but your wrong.

Ouch - you paying to fix that or returning it - or just living with it? :p

Is that a scratch on ur iphone 6 ??

Yes :(

My 6 Plus is having intermittent accelerometer issues, and I've spoken to someone on Apple's Live Chat and they say that the phone will probably be replaced under warranty for that issue anyway.

If it isn't, then I'll guess I'll just live with it. It's not that noticeable - that photo exaggerates it quite a bit - but I am a bit annoyed considering this has been treated like some kind of precious relic! Genuinely don't know how it happened. I assume a bit of grit on my micro fibre cloth or something.

Another vote for Zagg Glass. Had it on 5s and loved it. Got it for my 6 + and it's awesome. I also use a spigen Neo Hybrid Metal with the space gray aluminum band and several people have commented it almost looks OEM it matches so well. With case I have no issue with noticing glass either by feel or look.

Bottom line is, whether in coating or glass, you will get micro scratches that are visible without a protector. Never held anyone's phone without one and not seen them, including those that "baby" them and swear they are scratch free. Just the way all of them wear.

How did u got that scratch on ur iphone. It seems like something quite gritty n sharp has rubbed against ur screen.

Can you offer any feedback on the Spigen Neo Hybrid Metal? Did Spigen send you the button insert or did they fix the design? Any loss of signal (as some have reported) using the aluminum bumper?

Depends on how is normal usage is for an individual. For me, hairline scratches on it the very next day. My 5S had the same abuse but didn't scratch until months after.

Highly recommend Zagg or the Belkin one at the Apple Store.

Preface: I have not had a screen protector on an iPhone since the 3G.

I had no screen protector on it for the first week on my 6+ and did not get any scratches. I do have it in a wallet case that covers the screen when not in use though. I put a tempered glass screen protector on it over the weekend and really like it. My screen is protected, but the glass protector makes it feel as good as if it were naked. The only downside is that the protector does not fit over the curved edges on the iphone display. The Zagg screen protectors are overpriced IMO. There are several comparable glass protectors from Amazon in the $10-$20 range.

I'd definitely get a screen protector. The screens are pretty good at resisting scratches, but they aren't sapphire so they WILL get scratches. What will usually get scratches though is the oleophobic coating, not the glass itself (although the glass CAN scratch as well).

I JUST ordered a powersupport crystal film for my 6. I was intending to go totally naked but I just noticed a tiny scratch up around the ear hole. You need to look really hard to see it but it's there so I decided to go safe. I figured I'll add that before I start seeing more.

I Agree. I've always used the ones from Power Support. you cant even tell they are on.

How are those Zagg Glass protectors? I've never tried that specific one. I used a Zagg before but didn't like it because of the adhesive. The PS ones adhere with static cling. Prefer that to the sticky stuff.

Also a shame Zagg doesn't make the leather skins anymore. Had em on mine and the wife's 4S'. Loved those skins.

I have applecare+ on my 6 plus so idk if I want to put a screen protector but it's habit.

Bought it just incase it bends(lol) and for resell value. Also peace of mind although I've never broke a phone before.

I'm on my 3rd 6 (first had an uneven backlight and the second had a ton of dust under the camera).

This one has a half circle scratch in the coating on the screen (you can only see it in overhead lighting at the perfect angle) towards the vibrate switch. I'm certain it came out of the box that way (I just got this one Friday).

I'm not paying another restocking fee

I use an Apple silicon case for the 6+ mainly to make it less slippery (and to cover antenna stripes). I am not a fan of screen protectors I think they make the "most premium" cell phone look less premium. I will enjoy the phone and if the screen is scratched up in a year I will pay apple the $120 to put on a new one...just in time for the iPhone 7.

edit: I have only had the phone for about a week so hard to tell how resistant. No issues so far.

I pay $25 for ghost armor film on my screen.... When it's all scuffed up in 6 months I peel it off and go get a replacement installed for $5.

My premium phone still looks premium with my invisible film on the front. It's about as noticeable as my girlfriends contact lenses.

You don't need screen protectors. They don't do squat. Unless the screen protector is made of glass (some are), it won't protect your screen from any real damage.

I beg to differ, I have seen people drop a "caseless" iphone from a very short distance on the ground and have seen them crack badly.

I have always used full body protectors and have dropped my phone a few times from 3-5 feed onto a wood floor and have never had a single crack.

could it be luck...possibly, but to say they don't do squat is complete BS

Sapphire will give you the same problem most likely. It's not the glass itself that is scratching, it is most likely the coating. Same thing happens on high end watches with anti reflective coating.
