Don’t forget the shaking part. I always give it several extra shakes...
Anything more than 3 and you’re playing with it...

Haha you have 24 hours to do it there champ...Curious to know how this works. I never get the "stand" reminder because I'm never sitting for an entire hour.
And what if I wake up at 4pm.. How do you close a 12 hour ring when you don't have 12 hours to go?
Seems a bit flawed.
Let me get this straight....
Today, I woke up at 7 am.. took work calls on my couch then went back to bed for a few hours. then at 1pm got up, went to the mall, walked over 2 miles, then went to the gym, ran for 3 miles and because I missed my **** by 1 hour I didnt close all my rings? Seriously?
That's effin dumb.. ESPECIALLY for someone who doesn't wear his watch 24/7.
****ing massive disappointment. Sorry. you forget to put your watch on for a few hours and you cant close your rings? I get apple keeping people from closing the other rings but this one is a massive let down.
If you're not active, you don't get a trophy for being active.
Fact nobody see's an issue with not being able to adjust the ring is appaling. I was sick today and was in bed most of the morning and afternoon. Only after I slept most of the day, was I able to get up and walk 30 minutes and close the calorie ring (WHICH YOU CAN ADJUST).. But I'm ****ed in the stand ring because, oh look at that, i cant adjust it.
I have requested that Apple add a 'special' participation trophy if you can just manage to get out of bed for more than 1 hour a day.Fact nobody see's an issue with not being able to adjust the ring is appaling....But I'm ****ed in the stand ring because, oh look at that, i cant adjust it.

Thanks! I hadn’t known that. I’ll check it outAnother way is to tap ‘Watch Thread’ at the top right of the page, and then select ‘and receive email notifications’.
So you think that being sick in bed all day deserves a medal? The rings are supposed to be goals to strive for, not something you can achieve lying in bed!
TMI: canonical formI wake up in the middle of the night to pee and it counts as 1 hour because I am up for a minute - walking slowly to the toilet, pullllling the paaaaants doooowwwwwwn, peeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiing, pulllllling paaaaaaants uuuuup, and walking slowly back to bed.
you have to be up for a minute minimum every hour. How can you be down for 12 hours a day?
the point of the stand ring is to adjust your behavior to it, not to adjust it for your behavior. Why would you want your activity app to show a closed ring every day for days when you did not stand for a minute for 12 hours that day? That doesn’t paint an accurate record at all. Sounds like you have an OCD thing about closing the ring and you don’t actually want accurate activity records, which isn’t an Apple Watch problem, it’s a YOU problem.Fact nobody see's an issue with not being able to adjust the ring is appaling. You do realise that the stand ring is encouraging you to stand more and not be inactive for long periods of time. You complaining you cant close the ring because you get up, sit on your couch and then go back to bed has to be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen on this forum before. How can you expect to close the ring when your lifestyle is clearly not active enough to do so. The system doesn’t need changing, you need to change your lifestyle and habits to be more active if you want to close all 3 rings each day.Let me get this straight....

Again. Does it really need explaining that you obviously aren’t going to close your STAND ring when you are LYING in bed all day sick.Fact nobody see's an issue with not being able to adjust the ring is appaling. And that can lead to blindness.Anything more than 3 and you’re playing with it...
I'm 190 lb 13% body ft, 5'9 and can deadlift 405 for multiple reps and count calories down to the gram...... I think I know a healthy lifestyle... The stand ring was designed for people who sit behind a computer all day eating cheese sticks.. But I can count multiple reasons why you would be in bed or not focused on standing.. I can put the watch on at 11pm and close 2/3 things.. But I cant get the "medal" because I didnt stand for 12 hours.. Even sick, I manag to squeeze in 30 minutes of spirited walking and calisthenics.. Telling me I didn't achieve the full 3 because I was laying down and SLEEPING for most of the day is rather ********..Again. Does it really need explaining that you obviously aren’t going to close your STAND ring when you are LYING in bed all day sick.
Also if you can close your calorie ring by walking for such a short amount of time then you probably have it at the lowest possible setting. It sounds like you care more about cheating your way into closing all 3 rings each day rather than using the Apple Watches features to develop and sustain a more active and healthy lifestyle.
I have requested that Apple add a 'special' participation trophy if you can just manage to get out of bed for more than 1 hour a day.
I bet this would be unfathomable to you.

The stand reminder is only received if you’ve been sitting for the first 50 minutes of any hour. It will go off at the 50 minute mark of each hour if you’ve not stood for at least one minute during that hour.
And correct, if you wake up past noon, you can’t close your stand ring. The system isn’t flawed at all. You should be awake for 16 hours each day - plenty of time to close your 12 hour stand ring.
I kind of agree with what you’re saying here. Someone could compete in an Olympic triathalon for 5 hours but not close their blue ring, which is kind of a flaw. I can work an entire 9 hour shift on my feet and then go home and watch tv on the couch and not close my blue ring. I feel like 8 hours of not sitting once should close the ring.I'm 190 lb 13% body ft, 5'9 and can deadlift 405 for multiple reps and count calories down to the gram...... Just like you not being able to adjust the workout ring to MORE than 30 minutes.
Move along.
Telling me I didn't achieve the full 3 because I was laying down and SLEEPING for most of the day is rather ********..
In the spirit of this conversation I think the thread should have known this was your intention and done it for you. Thanks! I hadn’t known that. I’ll check it out
