Video Results

First of all, thank you! All of this work is phenomenal.

Quick question. I would say that 30-40% of my ripped and then encoded movies results with a slight sliver of flickering video when played back on my Mac. This does not occur on my Apple TV, however. Any thoughts?

Hi!

Thanks for this wonderful tool. But I have some problems, and I need some help.

I have mounted a movie(.iso) and tried to run the Batch Rip Encode, but I end up with this message.

What is the problem?

Can someone help me out with how to Rename and Tag TV Shows or Movies when the DVDs have extras on each disc?

eg. TV Show
-S1D1 - Episodes 1-3 and 3 extras
-S1D2 - Episodes 4-6 and 2 extras

How do I Rename and Tag these?

If I highlight them all and Rename and Tag I get E01 to E11, which isn't correct because E04-E06 are actually extras from the first disc.

I am also having trouble with Rename and Tag a Movie with extras on the disc. They don't end up as part of the same group of files.

I don't have it in me to read through the 1500 posts. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks....

Hey Guys

I use Ripit to dub and meta z to tag my small collection of DVD's, that I cannot find on the Australia Tunes store. I have one question how do I tag the studio who produced the film in meta Z? like the ones purchased on iTunes, as it does not show up in the films details.

Please excuse me if I'm missing something here, as I've tried to review and setup the environment.

I'm ripping a TV series for which the DVD order is significantly different than the TV broadcast order. I've ripped the DVDs to *.iso files with AnyDVD. I was about to rename the iso files as S1D1, etc.. when I realized the difference in the broadcast order.

Is there an appropriate way to automate this if my intention is to order my episodes for iTunes in broadcast order?

Thanks for all the work on this.

Is anyone else having problems post Yosemite update?

I'm having problems but I don't know if it's user error or Yosemite, since I didn't use it before. I may try to set this up on my Air with Mavericks just to see if the flow is broken by the OS upgrade. I'm wanting to work with ISO's created via AnyDVDHD, so maybe that's part of my problem. When I try to rip a DVD by the normal routine, I can't get it to ask me about episodes or naming.

The best ten US dollars is iDentify to name ripped movies for iTunes tagging information.

A little help

First off, thanks so much MacJedi for creating this program -- I've been chasing something like this around the interweb for a while. it's been my white whale. And you sir, are Ahab (hope the MOBY DICK reference holds -- been a while since i read it.)

I'm a newbie who knows just enough to get into trouble.

I have a ton of movies that i ripped a while ago and that are in video_ts folders.

I've gotten started encoding them so that I can play them in plex thanks to this program.

A question: on some of the movies, the output is a m4v file that's only like 22 minutes or something (a small part of the movie). I can tell by just glancing at the size -- anything under 1 gb is suspicious.

Anybody know why? I'm assuming it's b/c of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder. (i've noticed the # of files vary).

I apologize if this has been asked & answered -- didn't see it anywhere.

Thanks again

Chapter Names

It has been a while since I've had some DVDs I needed to rip but it appears that in the interim TagChimp has shut down.

Has anyone made any headway on integrating another solution (e.g. ChapterDB) to provide this same functionality?

Stop mac from going to sleep during a long rip

My mac was going to sleep during long rips.

To stop this I edited the file:
/Applications/Batch\ Rip\ Actions\ for\ Automator.app/Contents/Library/Automator/Batch\ Rip.action/Contents/Resources/main.command

and replaced the line:
Code:
open -a Terminal "$scriptTmpPath”
with
Code:
/usr/bin/caffeinate -i open -W -a Terminal "$scriptTmpPath"

Hope it may be of use to someone else.

I updated to El Capitan and the process stopped functioning. I think i have narrowed it down to to LibDVDCSS not functioning. I could not find an update available. Is there another way?

Isn't there a software (paid or free) that will do this without all the manual configuration?

El Capitan is to go live today. Does anyone have a fix for this yet? I don't know a ton about the technical side of this but it seems to be broken by the new OS. LIBDVDCSS or atlas the version posted here doesn't seem compatible. I know there is a new version out there from them but it does not have an installer like the version posted here. Does anyone have a resolve or instructions on how to take the version out there and install it?

Has this post gone dead?

Perhaps, but I still use this all the time. The error given is due to SIP, System Integrity Protection in El Capitan. The location of the lib is off limits now.

I'll try these now and hopefully have it working again.

This fixes the problem:
sudo cp /Library/SystemMigration/History/Migration-*/QuarantineRoot/usr/lib/libdvdcss.2.dylib /usr/local/lib

The code does seem to be getting a bit flakier with new OSX releases. Anyone up for helping me write a newer version & hosting it on GitHub (so that anyone can update it etc.). I'll give it a shot on my own but I'm no Apple developer (Java developer day to day). So anyone else who can lend a hand, that'll speed things up!

Honestly I think I'm just going to install and manually go back to Handbrake and a tagging app. This script / app was a boon when I was ripping my entire collection but now that its just new purchases here and there, I feel like trying to get it working every time OS X is updated isn't worth it.

There is no official software that does this?

None that I know of. I have been doing this for 5 years now. This solution was/is the best for automating it. Doing just Handbrake does work to some extent, but the Meta Tagging is somewhat klunky, cumbersome. Never found a great metatagging application myself. People claim some work. but I have looked and they never seem to work for me. LOL

For tagging, iFlicks 2 works great. In fact, the meta tagging for the script doesn't even work half the time for me so I end up re-tagging everything.

Hi All, I have just used Make MKV and IVI to put some Blu Rays into iTunes however the files in iTunes now have subtitles that I can't seem to turn off in iTunes or my Apple TV. What am I do wrong ?

Subler is the best around: https://bitbucket.org/galad87/subler/wiki/Home Includes ability to search on thetvdb or imdb.
