There are some known VPN issues with PPTP in 4.3 and with both l2tp and pptp in 4.3.1

I have it. But the DRM has to be removed.Crap. I'm screwed. I upgraded mine and it was never on my Mac since I downloaded it right to my iPad
is this possible to do? Does it require jailbreaking of any sort? I downloaded the optimum app yesterday so I'm pretty sure I am running the non-VPN friendly version. Boo optimum, always looking to crash a party
I don't think so as I only downloaded it for the first time yesterday afternoon, probably after they made the swich
I dare you to open a ticket with cablevision and tell them their update broke VPN!!
I did some reading. If you have a jailbroken iPad and a certain app, you can upload the 1.0 optimum.api in a format that's sharable. Since the app is free, I don't see it being an issue of piracy to share it. I have an iPad 2 and there isn't a jailbreak for it yet. So someone with an iPad 1 can upload it.

Someone was kind enough to provide a V 1.0 but when I tried to put it on the iPad with such software it didn't work. It actually provided a DRM type error. Unfortunately it appears it does have DRM even though it is free. It looks like the only way is for someone to run some software on a working copy on their iPad to be able to clean it up for someone else to use ;(

The 1.0.api has to be uploaded from the iPad through the app I'm referring to. The DRM is stripped during the upload. If I still had my iPad 1 I could do it but I sold it.
Once the iPad 2 is jailbroken I can help you out. This weekend I bought a Sprint 4G MiFi just so I can watch LiveTV. Sprint 4G data is unlimited and over 4G LiveTV doesn't freeze or skip. I'm holding onto to the 1.0 app like gold!!!That's what I thought. I'll have to sit here patiently and hope someone can help. Thanks for the offer

Aristo, as much as I'd like to pounce on that offer, I feel inclined to suggest you instead set up a SlingBox instead. You surely must have a family member in the states whose TV you can set this up on. The iPad app seems great, but you are confined to viewing on a 10" screen. With a slingbox you can view on your iPad, iPhone, computer and TV. I live in NYC and have a sling box set up at my father's house. I watch HDTV on my 40" Samsung -- On Demand and all that jazz -- for free.

Man, I feel like I have the worst luck in the world. I followed this story (on another thread) when it initially started, in response to the Time Warner iPad app. When I saw that the optimum one became available I instantly knew I would be setting myself up with this. However, I slacked and waiting to download the app. Now I'm left with no option but to use it on a jailbroken iPad, (which is fine because I have a JB'd iPad1). But this means I won't be able to use it on my iPad 2, until it is jailbroken. Sigh...
Also, to anyone who wants to set up this VPN on a Mac but doesn't have Leopard or above (which EasyVPN requires), you can set this up in Tiger (10.4) using iVPN. It's simple and mostly the same as the guide by the OP, but slightly different. Feel free to reach out to me if you are on Tiger and want help setting it up with iVPN.
