Not sure what you are talking about as to the "pushing your own app"... I am not aware of the OP having an app... the thread is about using a microphone on the touch.

Yes, I have a phillips SHH1610 microphone and it works great. My only problem is getting the recordings OFF my touch. No software works well for users who work with a large wireless network (thus these local wifi transfers don't work)... Waiting for Griffin to get their windows solution finished...

How well does that Phillips mic pick up from across a room, for a lecture or class?

I don't know as I use it for dictating. I would expect you'd want more of a directional mike, but don't know of any that have the "3 ring" pattern needed for the touch... For $9.99, the Phillips mic is worth a try, IMO...
 
So are there any changes audio-wise with os2.2?
I doubt it...:(

There were rumors that it would support "audio-in," meaning regular microphone/av in (as opposed to four contact headphone/mic combo pieces).

I haven't had a chance to test this out yet, has anyone else given it a shot?
