Why not just jailbreak? Someone said it's a hassle, this seems like a bigger hassle to me.

It is my understanding that if you jail break your iPhone you lose your developer's license.

Lies. Is there a way to tether to the ipad yet?
Lots of my friends are jailbroken and make apps.Should I believe you? It would be a simple matter for Xcode to check whether my iPhone is jail broken when it installs the developer certificate. That is why I have yet to jailbreak my iPhone. I do run my own custom apps on my iPhone and I don't want it "black listed"
I don't have an iPad but the requirements for iProxy are just two:
3G (of course)
Ad-hoc connection between your MacBook and the iPad.
If both requirements are satisfied I don't see why iProxy would not work.
Of course someone has to recompile the code.
It is ILLEGAL for actual code to be put out for use. I had a developer account and there is fine print that forces you not to. That's why you don't see more than 50 camera editing apps, because if EVERYONE knew how to do a simple change of color, it'd bog down the whole app store with those colors.
But hey, if people want to help me out with $10, I'd open a shared account for all of us to use. You just have to remember that there's a TOS and that you can screw it up for everyone else.
Wait a second. So what this guy has done, by releasing his code for iProxy, is illegal?
No, there is a ton of sample code out there...every developer book has all of the sample code included in it. Nothing wrong with this at all.
Just done it, works like a charm. Hopefully the Dev might further the code and do something like mywi, that would be awesome.
Both require jail-breaking.
1) MyWi - is an app for a jailbroken iPhone which will turn the iPhone into a WiFi hotspot.
2) A developer called ibluever is creating an app for a jailbroken iPad which will allow it to connect to the bluetooth PAN tethering supported by the iPhone.
iProxy can be installed on a non-jailbroken iPhone - It works, but not with an iPad.
C.
Do you know when this ibluever app will be out?
Just got this working to the iPad as well with wireless tethering by adding a PAC file into the app. Now can tether both the Macbook and the iPad at the same time or just the iPad. My patience just went up while waiting for the jailbreak to come around.
