Is your provision profile installed?

Yes, my provisioning profile is installed on the device and it is show in X Code when i view them.

If you could write some detailed instructions for me, that would be great. If you can't then some other help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

It's not even giving me a resigned file and yes provision profile is installed. All other ipas seem to work expect WhatsApp which is driving me crazy

You sure its fully downloaded the whatsapp ipa. It works fine here.

Whats the problem exactly?

Whats the problem exactly?

The file appears to resign correctly but when it is installed on the device it hangs on installing and then greys out.

I also used IReSign to sign the app and this gave me the error of the provisioning profile and the certificate not matching.

Ok so my problem was solved.
I don't know why the app was not working from the source above; however, I downloaded it from another host (not the whatsapp developer link) and was able to resign it.
Thank you for your help

Thats odd, but your going to be running an older version.

unable to update over App Store version

I can download and use the beta fine but when I try to update it over the original so that notifications work, it never actually updates. Using iTunes 12. Any ideas?

Scratch that, managed to work on third try.

Thats great, what was wrong?

So essentially we can't use whatsapp unless we're tech savvy and have a developer certificate? (contrary to simply paying for UDID registration)

I have registered the udid of my iPhone 5, but I have the crashes of whatsapp. so if i install the update directly from safari the update can't install. and i can't install the whatsapp.ipa because i have no certificates. is it possible that you sign the whatsapp.ipa and share it so i can install it?

My re-signed app fails to install..

1. Using Xcode 6, I have added the .mobileprovision to my 5s
2. Resigned using iModSign
3. Drag to iTunes
4. app install... but the icon stays greyed out :(

I cannot see the mobile provision on my 5s... and I don't have any profiles installed either visible on the phone itself (settings/general/profile)

What step(s) am I missing please?

You can't install it directly via the whatsapp site!

You need to have a profile especially for your iPhone UDID - not only your UDID registred.

Also you need a MacOSX installation to resign the app.

Yes.. I have a profile for my iPhone 5s UDID.. i just created it... and then added it via Xcode

And yes, I resigned the app using OS X...

I cannot seem to complete the download. It always stops at 43.7 of 43.9mb. Any one having the same issues?

Yes that is correct, websites do it for around $16 with certificates.

edit: link works now

Link is up and working

You need your device to be on the certificate so that wouldnt work. You need your own certificate and provisioning.

Make sure your mobile provision is on it via xcode. The beta has an issue of it not showing up. Also try the latest whatsapp it may fix the issue, fixed it when it tried to update to one version.

Try the latest version now. Works fine.

Which beta had an issue?

I can't use Xcode 5.1.1 as it doesn't support iOS8... so using Xcode 6 beta 5..
Xcode says .mobileprovision is on the iPhone, but looking on the iPhone via Settings/General/Profile, there is nothing there.

I've just tried it again with the latest build of Whatsapp and also an updated version of imodSign, and still get the same results...

App won't install on iPhone... Whatsapp icon stays greyed out....

I was having the same issue for days now. I thought it was a problem with the current beta version but then it was clear everyone else was able to download it. The solution I found is to download the file with some download manager software, I tried iGetter and it worked like a charm ;)
