How to remotely access Finder from iOS ?

Hello,

I'm currently trying to transform my 2012 MBP into a server.

I would like to be able to access the Finder from outside the local network. Apps like FileBrowser a great but only on local network

There are plenty of screen sharing solutions but that's nonsense on an iPhone...
I believe I got to create a VPN solution to use FileBrowser but I'm not sure how to do that (for me VPN used to mean access US Netflix from France...).
Are there any good - if possible free or not too expensive - solutions? )
