Barely fits inside my house:

Now I'll just need to make some room for the 6k monitor and its stand.

Yup. Definitely gonna make me spend $5k+$1k.
[doublepost=1559701064][/doublepost]Can this bitcoin mine like crazy?

I want to see how it looks with the optional wheels, and hooked to the back of my riding mower. I think the metal grates with those super efficient fans could help mulch the lawn clippings.

Are people really complaining about the cost? What did you think it would cost? This is everything pros have been waiting for. A modular Mac Pro that can be easily upgraded and repaired and comes in either a stand alone desktop or a rack mount form factor.

Oh and I don’t know if the complainers have been paying attention but the Mac Mini was redesigned around Pros as well. Grab a mini and an eGPU and you can get great performance at half the cost of the new Mac Pro.

I don’t see how anyone can complain. If you thought you were getting a new modular Mac Pro without paying the Apple Tax then I don’t know what to tell you other than to grab a Mac Mini and an eGPU.

Apple have failed to produce what the majority of Mac users wanted. This, along with the Pro Display, is complete overkill and far too expensive for what 99% of people outside of film and broadcast need. Also the base model for the Mac Pro is a joke - 256gb of storage!!! As for the display, it’s beautiful but only people working in a real nice need something that powerful. Apple have basically stuck their fingers up at all the graphic designers, photographers, freelance videographers and motion designers in order to create something for huge companies and it will cost them.

This sort of initiatives make me question the real intended market for this new Mac.
Forget the “Pro”, this Mac aims to be the ultimate corporate status symbol on receptionist desks...

Still not entirely sure how upgradeable this thing is after purchase. It doesn’t look like you can buy a processor or GPU from any computer store and plug it in. Also the original Mac Pro had 4 Storage bays, this looks like storage is soldered on meaning you have to pay Apples ridiculous SSD prices at the time of purchase.

I, too, am wondering storage. I understand why (internal) magnetic storage had to go: it’s bulky and slow. But if there aren’t several M.2 or similar storage slots I’m really surprised, as that seems to be the most common form-factor for internal SSDs (I could be wrong).

I’m guessing Apple expects you to use the PCIe slots for storage, which is fine I guess, but what are the options available? Are there adapters if you want to buy or already have M.2 cards?

What did the Trash Can Mac Pro use?

Why don't people just build a PC equal to spec and hackitosh it? Itd be cheaper to to so.

A bit irrelevant but is there an app or any place where we can use AR objects the same way as the new mac pro? It's very realistic, I tried taking some pics and you can't even tell it's fake. Did Apple create any more objects?

I'll never be able to justify the cost. So not really an issue for me personally.

The T2 chip is in charge of all system security, including the Storage. So you either by from Apple at time of purchase or you have to pay stupid prices from them after the fact.

"poor people need not apply"

That can’t be upgraded and a lot of people don’t want or need a 5K monitor. They want choice and the ability to upgrade. I use a Wacom Cintiq Pro so I don’t need the second screen that bumps up the price.
Buy what suits your needs. If it's not provided by Apple, buy elsewhere

As if it's that easy. Some people don't have the time or the knowledge or the motivation to learn such things.

Can the holes be covered? It really gives me the extreme creeps for some reason

Trypophobia is the unofficial term for this (fear of holes)

I expect people to also be triggered by the next iPhone with its triple camera back.

No it wouldn’t.

If you want to scrounge together parts to build a Frankenstein machine like it’s a Fallout game go right ahead and do so. Just don’t expect support from Apple. They build machines for everyone but you and have always done so. Stop asking for things that will never happen.

Won't anyone think of the trypophobes?

I like the design, but the holes are a tiny bit unsettling. And no, it's unlikely covering them will yield good results.

I don’t need a display and what I want is a Mac Pro that isn’t insanely expensive. The last 3 Mac Pro’s have all cost around 3-4K for the base model. Even with inflation taken into account there’s a huge Apple mark up on this thing and the base model specs are pretty laughable. Don’t believe me? Watch what the experts say
