Sounds cool I downloaded it. Will it not block essential features like the fact I’m sharing my location with family on googlz maps, won’t it block the background communication?
Sorry - I really have no idea. But then, the last thing I want to do is share my location with anyone, especially family! 😋

You've already downloaded it. Try it. Are you or family invisible to each other? If it indeed blocks Google Stalking (or whatever it's called), then check the Block List and see if you can find the feature listed and turn off that particular block.
Failing that, I guess you turn Lockdown off and delete it?

No harm, no foul.

I got a pop-up from Flipboard today. We just need to wait for everyone to update their apps.

people are completely misunderstanding what is going on with this. It’s an honor system, there is nothing that apple is doing that will prohibit the app that you have ”asked” not to track you from tracking you. There will be no RIP for any app because of this.

I still get advertisments on my ipad based on stuff my wife searches for on her ipad.
Guess is cause we share the same house internet connection...but they are still tracking her every movement.
An honour system eh? In 2021? .....Demonstrably does not work.

Seems like Apple also enabled it for versions prior to iOS 14.5.
Got iOS 14.3 (due to Jailbreak) and I still got that function enabled

Actually the “Allow Apps to request to track” toggle was available from iOS 14.0. But it’s only with iOS 14.5 will you get the pop-ups to ask them not to track. It’s fully implemented now.

In the app House of Blackjack 21, you're allowed to voluntarily watch advertisement videos to get free chips.

The app was recently updated.

Now, I tried to watch an advertisement video to get free chips, and I got this message:

But the weird thing is that the app never showed me the pop-up asking for permission to track!

And it should have, because I am allowing apps to request to track:

What is going on here?

When I go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking, as the first screenshot asked me to do, there is no toggle where I can allow this specific app to track me.

That doesn't sound like the right third party behavior. Take a screen shot of that, contact Apple about that app behavior. I wouldn't use an app like that. It is intrusive.

Assigning Static IP's are something they could do very easily with IPv6. On a lot of mobile providers you technically only have a IPv6 address and IPv4 traffic is done through a tunnel with a shared IPv4 address. They could even assign you a large block of IPv6 address so to you it would look like you don't have a static address.

Using a VPN may not be 100% effective at not allowing tracking because your providers IP address is still assigned to the device.
Thank you for the additional info on this. I try to stay up to date on all things privacy related but there is just so much out there that it is difficult to accomplish.

What the point as ATT does not even work, I have reset my phone several times definitely have latest iOS but never on a single app get asked if I want to allow

I’m in England
I had a similar issue with Twitter. Received the 14.5+ screen explaining ATT but I didn’t get the iOS pop up. Closing and reopening it or restarting the phone did nothing. Uninstalling also did nothing.

I had to uninstall, delete the iCloud backup, restart the phone then reinstall for the pop up to show up. Try that maybe. Assuming you haven’t already of course.

Hi Guys, So I’m back on this thread cause I’m having issues with Instagram. So I reset my iPhone and when I went to reinstall my apps, instagram was the only app to have previously asked for permission, to not do so anymore. Tried everything and nothing. Even waited 2 days. Nothing. No pop up.

Did something change in ATT for Facebook? Anyone facing this issue or would like to replicate it for me? Just need you to reinstall the app :)

Thanks guys.
