What’s annoying now I can’t just see my main tado thermostat reading I have to click into the climate but as all HomePods show different reading

Can you show a graph over time of temperature & humidity? If not built in, any recommendations on how to record this data and do graphs. Would be super useful to optimize heating schedule!

I had the exact same question! Would be great if it went into health app and you could see the trends over time!

You're asking for Alexa levels of usability. Hahahahaha
yes it will. Hahahahahaha

(sensible and helpful response follows:)

"hey siri, whats the temperature in here"
or
"hey siri, whats the temperature in the xxxxxxxxx"

Hello, can anyone tell me, is it possible for me to have my Homepod mini communicate temperature and humidity settings to my EcoBee Smart Thermostat Premium? Thanks!

It’s so bad I have 2 stereo HomePods mini in the living room on a table and one says 18.5c and other one is 19.5c but my main tado started says 20c

Temp readings in a room can vary considerably. Especially around furniture, vents, appliances, windows, doors, etc.

Try putting them together. Literally touching. Then leave them for an hour or two to stabilize and see if they match up.

How long does it take the Homepod mini to calibrate these sensors? Mine have been showing “Calibrating…” for a while now.
It took approximately half an hour for my HomePod mini to calibrate.

Turns out my living room has two temperatures lol
And so does my office. I have a stereo pair of minis, 1.5 meters apart, and they have a 2.5°C temp difference. There isn’t forced air heat or a radiator near either of them. BUT one of them automatically connects as a Home hub, which probably raises its temp. The room reading is an average of the two minis.

I wish I could manually designate which HomePod is the Home hub among my 4 minis and 2 biggies.

I have two HomePod Mini’s in my Guest Bedroom, and two in my Master Bedroom.

After updating all HomePod Mini’s to 16.3, neither of the rooms (or any of the HomePod Mini’s) show the temperature or humidity readings, and the related options are missing from all.
Same problem here. Nothing shows up.

Not working for any of my HomePods. Anyone else?
Nope, works fine for mine. and I assume you mean Hompod minis, or second generation homepods, doesn't work on Hompod gen 1, no sensor. So if you are saying it is not working on your HomePod gen 1, well there you go.

The first time I used the feature, I asked Siri for the temperature, Siri responded that it needed to calibrate, cam back a few minutes later, everything was working fine, and is stilll working

Two of my three minis wouldn't show the readings, restarting & unplugging didn't fix it. Resetting & reconfiguring them by unplugging and holding a finger on the display worked.

My biggest issue is that the temp sensor seems to be about 1°C lower than the other two sensors I've compared it to (the other sensors are more or less correct).

Humidity seems to be about right.

two main weird-isms for me.

1. For ONE of my stereo pairs.. in the home app it says 'no response' - although I have seen it with a temperature just the once though. however that said if i ask siri 'whats the temperature in here' i get the range indicating a stereo pair and 2 readings.
2. All my HomePod minis are the same age.... but the black ones are labeled 'temperature sensor' and the single white one I have is labelled 'homePodSensor nnnnnn'.

the no-response unit is fine in all other ways and seems to report a different temperature to its paired sibling - operating the same as the other pair i have... so its not really a case that the temperature sensor is faulty in some way.

Ok thank you. That did the trick for me too!

Personally, I would not call that an issue. The resolution of the temperature sensor appears to be 1ºC, but I've seen no stated figure from Apple for the accuracy. I would not be surprised if any individual sensor was up to a couple of degrees Centigrade off. Especially so if the HomePod has been busy blasting out sound and producing its own heat.

For those not seeing the sensors after the update, power cycling my HomePods brought them up.

Ye this is totally unusable. It’s not even a little wrong it’s WAY off! I trust my Netatmo way more unfortunately. Been using them for 8/9 years! Dam, I really wish apple got this right. But it’s a big dud!

My temperatures range 1-2 degrees C off of the other sensors I already had in the home, however humidity is about 10% off. I have Vocolinc air purifier in the bedroom which reports 58% humidity currently, and 2 feet away the HomePod reports 49%. Just outside the bedroom is also the Vocolinc humidifier in the main living area, which is reading 56%. HomePod in this area is reading 43%. I

I wasn't planning on relying on the HomePod sensors, so not a huge deal but just observing the variance in readings. I live in a small two bedroom home/cottage type building, with one main kitchen/living room area, not a lot of space to be getting readings on.

I find the Home App weak. You can't program any meaningful smart automations with it and the integration with third party accessories is lacking. It's annoying that one has to detour via third party apps. Directional control of a security camera? Can't be done in the Home App. Need a third party app. Third party apps can't control some hardware or the Homepod directly via automations. That needs to be controlled/programmed via scenes as Homekit doesn't allow direct access, etc.
That’s kinda the Apple way they simplify though to make it more accessible and approachable for everyone and home kit is still pretty young.
