Pretty sure the Fox Sports app will offer the game in 4K unless the deal with Tubi is exclusive??? I don't recall if the requirements for it is a cable subscription or not (I have one) but I've watched plenty of sports shown on Fox in that app and enjoyed the 4K (or perhaps 1080p upscaling to fake 4K). Currently in the schedule within the app, it shows game surrounding programs like "postgame" tagged as 4K, so I'm guessing the game will be too.

It always looks nice & sharp whatever it is. If you have a paid provider, you might install that app and then see later if the game is in 4K.

A friendly reminder to Canadian viewers that TSN will carry the 4K feed on their 4K channel. (Apps don't support 4K streaming)

I can just watch it for free on my TV as a plain old TV broadcast from the local station. No worries about internet hiccups, provider streaming capacity, or WiFi signal quality to muck anything up.

Truth be told, my family is not particularly interested, but we may check the TV from time to time for Super Bowl ads and for …
More important question is how do I stream the puppy bowl?
This one my family will have to resort to streaming to watch. As I understand, it will be on Animal Planet, Discovery, and a couple of others. I read somewhere it will also be available on Max, Discovery+.

I cut the cable years ago and have a set of rabbit ears that get local broadcasting, would Apple control commercials? I do have a couple streaming subscriptions that I watch but why would I watch through my AppleTV?

People only watch the Superb Owl to catch glimpses of Taylor Swift.

What's the catch? There is always a catch...
No catch. This is Fox moving deeper into the streaming business after the failed launch of Venu, the Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros Discovery sports streaming app.

Fox announced their intentions last week.

It's on (HBO) Max since this is an Animal Planet production and Warner Bros Discovery owns Animal Planet.

Yeah, there's no catch

Super Bowl is on network TV (free OTA)

They want as many eyeballs as they can get on all those ADs, and a "MEGA RATING" to be able to talk about when doing future Network & AD negotiations

Tubi app doesn’t download on iPhone 14 Pro Max. Actually no apps download or update whatsoever. New bug introduced in 18.2.1 and persists after multiple restarts and an update to 18.3.

My other device allowed me to download it but then as soon as I launch the Tubi app I get a screen saying “sorry, this device can’t stream Super Bowl LIX”

I guess they just don’t want me to watch it then!
Didn’t you say you found a workaround to that issue already?

Why not just tune in to Fox on your TV set?
FOX masters a lot of their major sporting events at 1080p HDR. This master is then sent to two paths: 1) upscaled to 4K for distribution on their online platforms or to cable/satellite providers who can broadcast the 4K signal, or 2) downscaled to 720p for standard HD broadcast distributions

I did, by updating apps individually one at a time, but this stopped working as well. Anything I try to update or install just keeps spinning endlessly. It’s gotten to the point that some apps can no longer be used (like Pizza Hut) because they prompt for an update that can’t be installed.
