Apple needs to make your online sessions longer. If I leave the page for like 30 seconds and then come back, and try and continue it says Session Expired! That makes me pissed!! I am still trying though

Tried at 1am PST. I was on for an hour. I finally went to bed because I was exhausted and AT&T and Apple weren't working. I woke up, tried again and it's the same deal.

One thing that I'll probably have to dispute with AT&T is the $18 upgrade fee that it said I will be charged when I ordered my iPhone 4. Yesterday when I texted *639# it said that they would waive the upgrade fee.

Aside from the 30+ attempts to order, it looks like it finally went through and I am crossing my fingers for a 6/24 delivery!

My experience was like finding a very large worm in your :apple:!
A couple of hours of waiting and getting the "infinite loop" of 'PROCESSING', only to be bumped with a 'YOUR SESSION HAS EXPIRED'.
Following that, the order went through, BUT, it didn't reflect the upgrade price, so when I got the confirming e-mail, I had to cancel.
Did it again, but it wouldn't let me pick the Apple Store near my work:confused:, (I wanted to do pick-up because I want to see the phone before I accept it) so had to start again.
FINALLY settled on a store on my way to work...
Overall, without question the most miserable online ordering experience I have ever had for any product any time.:(

I wouldn't call it "horrible," but it was definitely VERY time-consuming. Nearly three hours before I finally was able to complete the process and reserve the iPhone for pickup at my local Apple store. Compared to the reservation process for the iPad, which was a piece of cake, this was definitely not a fun experience.

Early Order

I ordered around 5am. Apple's site kept taking me close to the finish line, then stalling. I went to the AT&T site instead and was able to order. I've yet to get a confirmation email like some have, but I do have a Order Number from AT&T, so I'm confident.

Unfortunately, I can't order for my mom online. I've sent her to the AT&T store in her area.

I chose horrible since it was more bad than good, but it wasn't completely bad (for me anyways).

It would have been a lot better if I knew about the shipping address thing. I was ready to complete my order but had to change the address via AT&T's website and by the time that got changed the Apple Store was down again.

OP should of added more options. I pre-ordered but from BB which took less than 5 mins.

I originally went to ATT store but after waiting for 30 mins & finally finding out that I can't pick up at the store, I took off. I then went to Radio Shack but was told they couldn't do pre-orders until 1pm & it was 1030am EST at the time. Decided to try out Best Buys and in & out of the store in less than 5 mins with my pre-order.

BB didn't ask for my phone # to verify if I qualify or not. I just told them I had an 3G and they said ok and finished the pre-order. I did have to put $50 down to be used towards the phone though.

Was up with friends until 4:30 am CST. Then I went doh! maybe it's ready to pre-order. Checked the Apple site and it was. Tried there for a while then finally went to AT&T, ordered and got my confirmation and passed out around 6 am.

I guess I must of lucked out. I logged in at 1am PST and got to select the 32GB black iPhone 4.

I only had one time out error as I clicked checkout. I was luckily able when going back to apple.com to just go to view kart and then hit check out now.

Looking forward to getting mine at home on the 24th.:D

went directly into the ATT store and it was packed. Computers were crashing. But the sales guy I got was A+ He got me the pre-order and made sure my acct was untouched. Shipped to my house.

Problem? Other sales people were telling customers that if they have the i4 shipped to ATT Store that they would get it on the 24th. Also one sales person said the white got sold out this morning....

Finally!

After hours of trying apple.com, att.com, and the Apple Store App I finally got my pre-order to go through with the app. :D

It was alright, Was one of the first to check out the prices and stuff at 9AM (UK) but didn't pull the trigger then, still waiting for Tariffs but ordered and reserved PAYG iPhone 4 and will cancel if I need to.

I got through first time with Apple!

All was sweet but then I got a message from my bank saying there was unusual activity, Apple charged me £12,973.00.

Holy***** spent 4 hours trying to pre order online.. that didnt work .. so i go to an ATT store and spent 2 hours there.. they MANUALLY did everything credit card. manually contract.. yeah not the best experiance but hey i have an iphone pre order.. hopefully

Delivery or pickup

Quick question,

This would be my first iPhone. to get it on launch day, would you recommend pick up or delivery?

The worst

This is utterly and absolutely the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. I actually want the phone less now. I still want it, but less. I even for a split second considered checking the Evo out, for a split second. I could have saved myself time and hassle by camping out in front of the apple store on the 24th.

Still can't pre-order. Just going to do it whenever I can and hopefully get it on the 24th. I don't think there's a shortage or anything, but AT&T's servers are just failing.
