No white iPhone No Pre-order for me:mad:, I'll just wait to get off work than I dont know what I'm gonna do lol, I keep thinking to myself why there isn't a white iPhone available...WTF Apple?
 
After a few failed attempts with the online Apple Store and with the new app, I decided to relax, let go and went for a nice swim in my pool instead...

Then after visiting this forum to check if there were any progress anywhere, I saw the thread about successful reservations using the new app, tried again, and it went through like butter! Apple has always come through for me, especially if I chill and refocus on the insane amount of positive their technologies have injected in my life in the last 22 years!

Wow! So sorry to hear about most people's experiences. I went onto AT&T's website shortly before 7:00 a.m. EST and ordered it right up. No crashes, no delays. Got my e-mail right away, also.

I'm going to go duck now while people throw things at me. :eek:
 
Mine was ok. Tried right at 5:30. It did take about 45 mins to get it done. I have a FAN account so I tried it with the ATT Premier and the Apple/EPP site. ATT only show the 8gb 3GS for pre-sell. So I gave up on that one and just kept trying with the Apple/EPP site. No discount on the iPhone, but saved a couple of buck in the Bumper. Pretty happy once I got it all done.
 
iPhone 4 Pre-Order experience

Started at 7:30 am CDT trying to pre-order through Apple. After 5-10 tries it finally went through. Probably took 35-40 minutes of trials.

All will be forgiven if they ship and it arrives on the 24th :D
 
The poll options are way too extreme. My experience wasn't good, but it wasn't awful either. Took me an hour, got two preorders. Yes, one of the lines had the bug where it only allows you to pick the phone up in store, but thats not a huge deal.

Fighting my way through the loading screens and server timeouts was a pain, but its the price of releasing something over the internet.
 
Even though I woke up at 330 AM to pre-order.......didn't go through.....finallly went through around 945..........I'm glad I'm not dealing with it right now. I'm reading reports that lines are ridiculous in both apple and att stores. Furthermore, they are signing people up with pen & paper b/c the servers are so backed up. This is getting out of hand.
 
Turned on iPad and went to the Apple site and got the "Ooops" on the Store - reloaded and it was there for pre-order. Set up to grab it at my local Apple store on the 24th, no issues.
 
After reading all the horror stories of trying to order online, i decided to go to AT&T. After about an hour there with about 15 people ahead of me, they announced their system was down. They took my info, verified my account, asked which phone i wanted, set up something in their system and they are to call me when system is up to get payment to finalize the order. They said about 3pm. This is insane how difficult it is to get these pre-orders in. Ya think they would have their system working better then this. My rep said he's been there for every iPhone launch and every year they say it will be smooth this time and it never is.
 
Bad start good ending

Well I started trying to preorder at 7 am no luck on either website until 10. So i told my fiance to go into the at&t store near her house and try it out. I ended up being on her mom's family plan with a 2gb data plan paying 50 a month. Arriving at home on the 24th. Not so bad afterall.
 
Managed to reserve a phone just fine, starting to doubt that I'll be able to preorder any time today. I can't miss work, so I don't know if I'll be able to pick it up at the store.

HORRIBLE! This experience needs to be streamlined (big time). It took me 8 hours starting at 4:15am EST to get at 12:20. I was watching my favorite show from 11-12 pm (The Price is Right on CBS) and was checking every commercial break. I finally got it through the iPhone App (which I got early this morning). So bad experience. But like the rest of us we are all suckers for Apple and will even put up with this. My 2 cents
 
Annoying and frustrating in the slowness and constant errors/timeouts... Very maddening with the sudden demise of the white iPhone. So overall, pretty awful, though I did FINALLY manage to get a reservation in on a 32GB through the Apple Store app. That was after maybe 6-7 hours of trying.
 
Just ordered my new Mac Mini with no delay. Apple has clearly anticipated the extra load by creating a dedicated web site. Note the buyiphone.apple.com url when checking out.
