It's not over thinking it. Samsung under-thinks its ideas.

The S4 has a feature that allows you to take a picture with the back and front camera at the same time.

Samsung says "hey sometimes you want to take a picture of your friends/family and be in that picture too so this feature will add you in there.

Ok, interesting concept. How did they execute it? the final pic looks like someone copy and pasted your face into the pic.

Is there a better way to do this? yes, ask someone else to take your picture. Mankind has been doing that since the camera was invented.

Better implementation than affixing filters into the camera app.

Apple so wants to be Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and everything else.

Always late to the party.

lol...
Ok, you're right, of course, that the Pro line out-specs the Air line. You simply can't use an air of you need to do professional video or photo editing, or any kind of work (CAD, programming and compiling, etc...) that requires more power. But saying that the Air is for students, teenagers, school, and travel is shortsighted. There ARE, after all, other professions besides video editors. Writers, for example, can fulfill their profession perfectly well with an Air vs a Pro (JK Rowling says that the Air changed her life, and she wrote many of her novels on it). Teachers, counselors, businessmen, accountants, lawyers, doctors, etc, etc... can find plenty of power for their professional needs on an Air.

I've found the MBA more than powerful enough for the vast majority of programming tasks, it is a machine that can be used by professionals for a multitude of different tasks. It may struggle with certain scenarios (graphic intensive tasks, expandability etc.) resulting in a MBP being required, but i'd have said you are severely underestimating the power that the Air provides. They are both 'Pro' machines that can be used by professionals or 'normal users' alike.

I found the Pro just too bulky for my tastes. It's a wonderful machine, but I'll wait until they slim it down.

The Air does everything that Pro does. It depends on what you're doing. I don't need that industrial kind of power, like I'm working for someone.

So your defense of samsungs poor execution of ideas is attacking Apple for implementing features that are present in other apps natively?

Come on you can do better than that.

Putting filters in the camera app was redundant and everyone knows it. What am I supposed to do? Take a picture, use the filter, then share it on Twitter with another filter on top of that?

It eliminates the need for another app that does just that. Just like the flashlight toggle in CC eliminates the need to download a flashlight app.

Hmm, not really. It's not like people are going to delete Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from their phone. It's more redundant than anything.

A smart thing to do would've been to implement QR code readers instead of filters.

But hey what do I know.

Fair enough but that still doesn't champion what Samsung is doing by putting out half-ass thought out features.
