Predictions:

1. It will have 2Gb RAM
2. It will be 2X faster being a quad core
3. Graphics will be 40% faster than 6
4. Ugly white antenna bands will be well hidden.
5. Better, stronger material and built quality. Not so easily bendable.
6. 2x2 Wifi config supporting up to 866 Mbps throughput.

They need to cut out the 'S' crap and make a new phone each year that's more than a half-step forward.
As an argument against that, if Apple actually came out with completely new designs every year, there would be even more people complaining that Apple is "forcing" them to upgrade every year. I think the "S" game plan is very good for both Apple and consumers. Most Americans operate on the two-year contract so they can get subsidies, so they can only upgrade every two years anyway. People are always going on about how the companies make their products "obsolete" when they are perfectly fine. The main models are good for people who want the latest designs, while the S models are good for people who want something tried and true, but with more powerful features. Everybody wins.

How will the 6S differentiate itself?

I think the tech should move ahead as quickly as it can. Life is too short to be waiting on this stuff and marking time with S releases is a waste.

I like the s better. It means I can find a plethora of compatible cases for the next 2 years. Unlike my Note 3

- General spec bump
- 2 GB RAM
- Slightly better rear camera (bump still likely, I doubt the chassis changes)
- Better front-facing camera for "selfies"
- A snarky way to claim the new phones are "more resistant to bending"
- Sapphire glass

And no reason why these things should not have been in the current iPhone 6.
The S releases are nothing more than a money grab adding features that were deliberately left out of the previous release.

Hopefully more RAM. Apple keeps racking on faster processors without addressing the bottleneck.

Siri needed faster processor of 4s to work. 64 bit processor had to be in development still when the 5 was released. Touch ID if it was ready during 5 release, it would have definitely been added to the iPad line last year the.

Probably Sapphire glass, 2gb RAM, processor (would love a quad core), bump up on the camera's (front and back) and maybe a Rose Gold color, possibly some kind of new integration with the iWatch, maybe even a new speaker system. I think the speakers will surely follow a lot sooner than later.

Siri worked fine on the iPhone 4. All of the processing is done server side

I'm expecting:

2GB RAM
Non-protruding camera ring by having some "ground breaking camera hardware"
2 MP front-facing camera
iPhone 6 will use the 3x Retina display
Improved battery on the 6 Plus
Reinforced steel interior bands on the 6 Plus to avoid any "bending issues" *This won't be announced however*

That's true. I remember I had Siri running on my jailbroken iPhone 4 through a proxy that I paid a one time fee of $10 for. That was the only feature I wanted from the 4S, so it was basically like having a brand new phone without having to upgrade. The added speed of the 4S was more for future proofing and wasn't much use for 2011 anyway, and then I ended up getting the iPhone 5 the year after that. Now I have the 6. Screw the "s" generations. :)

as with most s-versions there will be no hardware changes.

so people talking about thinner phone better put your money somewhere else.

probably new A-chips, improved camera and some new feature only available to the 6s....a bit like touchID was for the 5s...

not gonna happen....

even if not announced iFixit would be on to it straight away creating a PR meltdown...

A new CPU and camera would be hardware changes.

Why can't people be happy with the phone that came out a few weeks ago? Why do you even care about what happens next year?

Apple did revise their antennae layout in the 4s even as they publicly denied problems. It showed that it was enough of a problem to merit attention.

Same here. Apple could continue to strengthen the structural rigidity of their iphone6 without admitting there is a problem. They are not correcting a flaw, they are improving on an existing strength.

Nope.

They corrected the antenna after admitting there could be a flaw if phone was held in a certain death-grip.

They haven't admitted anything with the bending. In fact they dismissed it and are refusing to exchange phones that have bent.

definitely no reinforcement

octa core 3GHz processor
8GB RAM
256GB storage
UHD screen
8K video recording
5000 mAh battery
40MP camera
16MP front facing camera
Thinner
Ligher

Faster
Better camera
Something improved with :apple:watch
More structurally rigid
Maybe an added security feature

The iPhone 3G was an odd upgrade. Technically a new design, but internally it was pretty much the same as the 2G. Same processor, same ram, same graphics, etc. Only the baseband processor was new. And it actually had a crappier battery (1100 mah instead of 1400). I consider it to be the most incremental iPhone update ever.

I think Apple will probably stick with the S cycle, especially since they've just moved to the bigger screens.

Yes, it was odd indeed.
The new baseband had 3G networking and GPS.

Also, besides the crappier (pardon my french) battery they moved from aluminum to plastic. I was so mad.
The iPhone 3G was the only iPhone that I did not purchased.
