The UC in US definitely could have been better. They should have just supplemented the state amount to pad it up to 100% instead of having people getting way more on UC than people actually working.
Yea, wouldn’t want the mass of people realizing they’ve been underpaid for 40 years. Best to give them less to struggle by with during a crisis.

It's sitting in our checking account. I'm too busy to spend money. Actually, I'm spending less in the lockdown than usual so I have more cash and I need to put it someplace.

Give some to the local food pantry since it will actually get spent quickly and also feed some hungry people in the community. Pay off last month's balance on the card I've been using for grocery deliveries and staple goods re-ups. Give some money to my local public library; that will get spent fast too and provide patrons with some new books or support their kids' entertainment summer program if they can figure out how to do it safely this year. Put what's left into savings for contingencies. Hope the contingencies only amount to satisfying an intense desire to drop a small bundle of dough on more ebooks... but I'll wait awhile and daydream about that.

Slight alteration to how I was donating mine:

There is a medical organization that I would like to contribute to locally, and being the pandemic has greatly affected the restaurant industry, there’s actually one specific restaurant that I’d like to personally handover the money to an owner, Who I believe deserves it, for putting out a quality product, hires employees that actually care about their job and every time I’ve been to this one specific restaurant, they’ve always delivered. (And I’m very particular about food and cleanliness on another level.)

When I reflect on the millions of job losses, this is a really unique time for me to be alive seeing something I’ve never witnessed at 33 years old. I’m just fortunate to have a career where I have security, stability financially. It’s really unfortunate For those who have home loans, business investments/loans, and all the employees surrounding these job losses. The unfortunate part, is this is something that will be not be remedied overnight with the economy bouncing back, as C/19 will continue to have its grasp on the economy for quite some time Almost every job sector.

And one thing I think the ‘stimulus funds’ has provoked my thought In the last week or So, (and being an investor within the last two years), I want to start looking at small initiative projects for companies that maybe can help the economy in different areas [I.e-promote job growth, career expansion, continuing education, etc.], if that means I. can assist that’s something that maybe if I can contribute in some way possible, then I can say that I made a difference hopefully for a business or a family.

And, if anybody’s been paying attention, there are signs/marketing everywhere that basically says “We’re all in this together“, and that is one ideality I totally agree with, everybody is involved in this, and hopefully I can make a difference where it’s needed.

Yeah but it's advice from yahoo... so...
Yea it all depends on your situation, but the whole point of a stimulus is to stimulate the economy, so you should buy things. And debt isn't the worst thing to pay off if you already have a cushion. I would agree about probably not investing other than stable retirement and about supporting locals who don't have the account balances to weather this.

Well the lawn mowing season just kicked in here big time after a stretch of decent weather finally got rolling. So I'll be doing my part to support the local economy. Guy who mows my lawn usually takes the cash straight to the supermarket to get what to put into his family's kitchen cupboards.

So as to how to get a socially distanced cash re-up, now that I don't drive any more... heh, traded three back issues of the Paris Review and a personal check to some kin who stopped by with the cash he got from an ATM. All of course handled in paper sacks, left anonymously on the porch. Money for a series of professional hit jobs on my lawn! :)

finally hit 1000 miles on the beast we bought with the stimulus money. we get from 10 to 30 miles a day on it. since it has standard Bosch batteries they can be exchanged with my commuter bike. my wife is blind and loves to ride with me for some reason. we do a little off road but the trails need to be hard packed and sharp doglegs means walking around them. spent a lot of time getting it setup for her as she had no clue what she needed and changing the bike to fit us all new bars all the gearing was changed bu the front chainring. we wanted better climbing and the nI put a cadence sensor on both cranks we found she was 10 rpms after then me so it meant more gearing change. and How to deal with the timing change if out dos not fit. Hey tandems have a elliptical bb that you can rate how cool.

A friend is looking for a new electric bike and tells me that bicycles are hard to get right now. The motor on his burned out and he needs a new chain and derailleur on his current bike. He's looking at his options. The bike you have looks great.

I bought blue chip stocks with a little over half. The other bit Is in a house upgrades/improvements sinking fund. If we get another stimulus, I’ll push most of that to the market as well.

Good luck not getting a bike stolen in the US!

My spin bike weighs about 100 pounds and is rather unwieldy. My road bike has two flat tires. I wonder how hard it is to get parts. The bike is 40 years old. I bought a frame and assembled it myself.

It is difficult to get the right parts now. COVID-19 has messed up everything!

I need to figure out which tires I need as there are so many new types. I’m wondering if they are even made now. Tires are far more expensive than they used to be too.

So what’s everyone gonna do with the next round of stimulus? I paid off my credit card with the previous one and am gonna pay off my credit card this time around!

My son's experience was with a tire. He had to buy the "wrong one" because the exact same one he had was not available.

I used mine on a ultralight 18F degree down sleeping bag, 50F degree down liner, ultralight pad, down pillow for my bug out bag.

I was just thinking about this today:

One of my ‘side gigs’ is actually as an ‘investor‘ in the restaurant industry in my community, I see firsthand which restaurants are flourishing and other ones that are borderline low margins with over 300 establishments Competing. Most of them surprisingly are doing very well with using the ‘stimulus money’ to either renovate the restaurant during the time it was closed, pay employees, ect. It wasn’t for the stimulus money, I suspect some of them may not have actually remained open until the quarantine rules were lifted on indoor seating. I think the community support was huge with that first stimulus, and quite a few local members of the community donating money to these restaurants, especially the ones who put out a good product, Excellent customer service at a top notch level, cleanliness, etc. Anyways, just spending/donating a little bit of money into Various restaurants, goes a long way, especially when you have multiple support Channels from a chain of patrons that really enjoy certain venues.
