Well with barely any use today (less than 10 minutes), I'm down to about 85% by the evening on my 6s Plus. I think most of this is due to Apple Watch connectivity. My bigger concern is that with the screen on, just browsing message boards etc, the battery is just dumping. Probably 2-3 minutes per percent. It's pretty crazy. Screen brightness is around 25%, if that.

So it seems like my issue is screen-ON battery life. That doesn't sound like a hardware issue. It just sounds like the 6s Plus has inferior screen-on battery life for me. Bummer. :(

My 6S+ devours battery when web browsing compared to my 6+. The performance of the A9 is ridiculous compared to the A8 but it seems to take a toll on the battery.

My little ongoing unscientific test....

two BRAND NEW phones - 6s and girlfriend's 6+ (non S), both on wifi, playing same youtube video in landscape, Bluetooth on, siri on, max screen brightness...

After 4.5 hours:

6s has 40% remaining
6+ has 50% remaining

Pretty expected. 6+ battery is better than 6S.

Not sure I agree. And also how do you use a phone with screen off? LOOL.. Measuring pocket-off time doesn't seem to be a useful measure of anything.. But your 1% drop for every 2-3 minutes of Screen On time seems steep to me and possibly an indicator of a faulty battery. But it's going to be hard to know unless you use your phone more normally and then post results. You Apple Watch guys will have a hard time trying to compare results since you tend to use your watch more to read texts and web I would guess. My 6S+ is getting amazing screen on results at or above Apple's specs.. So what I know for sure - is that there's nothing at all inferior about the 6S/6S+ battery itself when used under moderate to heavy usage. Best battery Apple's ever made.

Individual cases may be different for one of many reasons - but all my testing has shown Apple finally delivered on battery specs after the 4S, 5 & 5S had been suck-azz. 6 and 6+ were markedly better but not quite reaching Apple specs. 6S and 6S+ for vast majority of us are delivering best results since iPhone 4 (last phone battery that gave us multiple 'days' of light usage before needing to recharge).

Same here. Are you using safari? Hopefully a fix is in place via 9.03.

Also the gap bw LTE and wifi seems to be much wider as well in terms of drain

Are you both of you guys using IOS 9.0.2? I along with a bunch of others seem to be suffering bad battery ever since starting to use IOS 9.0.2

I am considering buying a new 6s and returning this one!

9.02 yes but doesnt seem to bother me. I have most of the system battery settings off. Also dont forget icloud reading list sync and put the clock in a folder so the live icon doesnt drain

My battery is dropping like a stone today and I have no idea why. Just web browsing at home over WiFi with no other apps open. Nothing has changed since yesterday other than updating some apps at bedtime that I haven't even opened up. There is nothing of any note showing in the battery section, nothing running any 'background activity' etc. Totally stumped. I'll run the phone down today, do a hard reset at bedtime and see if things are any better tomorrow...

I'm having great battery life so far and I haven't turned off anything except background sync. I came from a galaxy not 4 that had just ok battery, sometimes it would drain just sitting. This phone doesn't drain at all, I'll go 15 hours with like 5 or 6 hours of use and still be at 50% or more, pretty awesome.

Ive come from a 6 to a 6S and I'm noticing the effects of a smaller battery unfortunately. With the 6 I never needed to think about it with my usage. With the 6S it starts getting tight in the evening whereas before there would be enough juice to see me through to bed time with no worries.

Gotta compare Apples to Apples. Were you running iOS 9 on your 6? Do you have every setting (BlueTooth, Push Mail, Location services system settings, etc) set identically now on your 6S as your 6?

Yes. I was running ios9 from beta 1 through to final so I've already spent a lot of time with 9 to be in a position to compare

Wow. Strange. We've had exactly OPPOSITE results. Seems strange. In every way the 6S battery is superior to the 6 keeping all other factors equal running 9.x betas on both.

I don't own a 6+ ( I own a 6) - but I bought both a 6S and 6S+ for testing. Will return one before my 14 days of Buyer's Remorse time are up - or what I more lovingly refer to as the 'AT&T rental plan'. (lol)

I wish my experience was better, it's not bad but just average. Not sure how you can have a better experience tho as they are both running iOS9 but one has a bigger battery.

I've been surprised by my 6S Plus. I kept reading the past year that I owned my 6 how the 6 Plus battery is simply terrific and a major selling point.

I haven't noticed any better battery life on the 6S Plus than my small 6, to be honest. Maybe I'm using it a tad bit more, but I've actually had some days I faired worse.

Maybe the 6 Plus was the real battery keeper.

i am quite happy :) 29th September 2015 (iOS 9.0.1)

You must have different settings enabled on your 6S+ compared to your old i6, you're employing a different usage pattern, you're on a different carrier network, your backup is faulty (try a restore and reinstallation), or you have a hardware fault.

Utter nonsense. Prove it.

Reread your post there. Doesn't make logical sense. Obviously a bigger battery WOULD make for a better experience - certainly not 'merely equal' as you imply. Pretty confusing post there.. Please clarify.

The bigger battery in the 6 offsets the better efficiencies of the 6s resulting in equality?

I'm saying mine is. I can barely get 2 hours of usage before I'm down to 77% battery life

Bummer. You on iOS 9.0.2? I returned mine and bought a new one. Battery is ok but it's way snappier. Going to give the battery a few days.

I'm not on iOS 9.0.2 on this phone. Not sure whether it's 9.0 or 9.0.1.
