iPhone X How’s your battery life on X?

This is what I ended up with today, currently have 7% left. Still not getting the crazy numbers that some of you are getting but I know usage varies due to cellular connection and all of that. Been ok WiFi all day. If you guys say it’s normal then I won’t worry about it. Thought about doing a clean wipe and then setting it up as new. Also the 2 front runners using the most battery life are the usual suspects.

That's what I was getting I had it for 8 days, about 8 hours usage, I was expecting a little more. I'm not a power user at all, no push e-mails, all background refresh turned off, screen brightness mid to low, turned off haptic, mainly used for texting, loading IG/FB, some safari surfing. I was expecting 10hrs solid.

Yeah I was definitely expecting a tad bit more out of it. I guess after using the Plus for years it’s gotten me a little spoiled. Trying to decide if I’m going to live with it or what. Part reason why I haven’t sold my 8+ yet.

Mine was 80% full this morning, I have not charged it yet and its on 34% now. I have used it mostly for safari, instagram and whatsapp and notes. Coming from a four year old iphone 5, its awesome! But dunno how long this will last for? Lithium batteries ages really fast :/

I needed a smart battery case to make it through a day on my 7- for a stock phone the X battery is mildly a step above the 7 (based on my usage patterns).


Stop being lazy Apple, make a battery case.

Running my X in low power mode to make it thru the day until my battery case gets here.

Benchmarks I ran under low power mode put it between a 6 and a 6s.

Yeah I got an 8+ for now getting a solid 10hrs, for my usage, poor eyesight, and $450 I saved it's more beneficial to me ATM. The X is cool but maybe when they go a bit bigger I'll jump back on.

You do realize that the X’s screen is larger than the Plus right?

you removed the corners to be able to get the screen the same size? Why? Plus, screen sizes are measured diagonally everywhere in the entire world, why the need to complicate it by calculating resolution with ppi, removing what you feel is not the screen, when in fact it is, to make a point...

Is there anyone who HEAVILY uses Snapchat that could give me their screen on usage please?

I use Snapchat alot and I noticed on all my other iPhones it drains the battery loads. Makes me wonder when people claim they get over 8 hours screen on usage when I get way under that

i didn't remove anything in order to get anything to happen.

there is no actual diagonal measurement for a screen with rounded corners..srry.
further- diagonal measurement are completely worthless if trying to compare different screen sizes which have different aspect ratios (such as iPhone 8+ vs X)

also, not really sure what point you think i was trying to make in that post but i assure you, there was no opinion bias in there..

Apple didn't list the screen size in physical dimensions.. just via the resolution..
how else was i supposed to get the size?

when you remove the area of the notch and the corners, the X then becomes the smaller screen

i have two displays.. screen-A has a diagonal measurement of 5.7" and screen-B has a diagonal measurement of 6.3"..
which display is larger?

I have no idea how anyone could expect similar battery life to a Plus in the X, it’s physically not going to happen, all you have to do is look at the dimensions of the phone to work that one out.

Honestly yesterday I didn’t use it a whole lot since the novelty has sort of worn off but today was a normal day of use and I’m still on it, I’m impressed

The screenshot is of the last 2 days I just took it now, I took it off the charger at 10am yesterday used it lightly yesterday, didn’t charge and used it throughout the day today while at work and I haven’t charged it yet, it’s at 2% now

Almost everything, the X is only a few millimetres bigger than a 6-8 iPhone, the Plus iPhones are much larger. Even taking into account that the X has two batteries to fill the space it’s not going to compare to the juice a Plus model can hold, you would have to remove most of the circuit board in the X to be able to get enough battery in there to get the same run time. The only reason the X doesn’t have the same or worse battery to a standard 8 is because they stacked the circuit board.

That’s also not even factoring in the X has a higher resolution screen that it has to deal with so has to work harder than the Plus.

Apparently you never saw the tear down of the X? It has a bigger mAh battery than the 8+ with a triple layer stacked board to save the space to fit that battery. OLED is more efficient than LCD yet the X still dies faster than the 8+.
