HP Accidentally Uses macOS Screenshot in Ad for Windows Laptop

It looks like an EliteBook which is a business class laptop. It’s not really targeted to consumers and it doesn’t look that bad in person.
Well it’s an ad running on the platform, not a post. So I assume HP can easily have it taken down if they didn’t approve. But someone paid to show this.
But between the screenshot and the poor attempt at ellipsis, it does look very sloppy. So who knows.
I do wonder if I would buy a cheaper PC laptop if it could run MacOS. With Apple's transition to ARM I guess that won't even be feasible soon enough.
I wish more people understood that business laptops are a thing. People generally think PCs are slow and terrible because they’ve only ever seen slow terrible cheap consumer ones.
And the fact that people are still selling HDDs in this day and age makes it all the worse.

They really need to just go back to Windows 7. That was about as perfect an OS built on top of Vax/VMS as there will ever be.
Not surprising given so many design agencies run Macs. I wonder how many agencies HP went through by telling them they expect them to run HP computers, only to give up and say it doesn’t matter (though clearly it does)…

This comes across as a subtle dissing of Microsoft. "Our computers would be the best if they ran macOS!"
Funny... I just picked up a VERY CLEAN HP EliteBook 840 G3 for only $50. I wiped Windows and put Monterrey on it. Everything works. Even the iCloud, iMessage and Facetime.
That happened to someone who was promoting the Patriot phone which runs Android.
All of the posts were from an iPhone.
On top of the humor of the screen part of this image, it also continues to amuse me how closely Windows laptop makers still try to emulate the classic 2008 unibody Macbook look, so many years later…
You do realise that regardless, Samsung is one of Apple's biggest partners? Care factor 0 probably from both sides. Do you really think no one at Samsung has an iPhone or vice versa? 🥱
HP laptop running macOS... kinda reminds me of when HP sold rebranded iPods.

The picture is correct … this HP can indeed run Mac OS (Monterey and above) natively … they’ve licensed it from Berkeley, virtualized using windows 11 risc
20 years ago, when I was working for HP, I tried to get my manager to buy me a Mac to do some web page development. Maybe now I could actually get that request approved.

Another back when I worked at HP (two in one night)... Back in 2005, I was part of HP's iA64 CPU design team that was sold off to Intel. There were rumors going around that HP was going to give us HP iPods as a parting gift. Alas, we got some crappy iPaq instead.
