HP Touchpad 16GB for $99 and $149 for 32 GB version

I ended up getting 3 from eBay for $125 shipped. They will all be used and not for resale. I will try to resell the 32GB from OfficeMax if the order isn't canceled by them.

According to that post, will Best Buy be selling them tomorrow? If so I will go pick one up so I can actually use one instead of waiting a week.

Yep

It says FB454UT Smartbuy TouchPad QUALCOMM Snapdragon APQ8060 1.2 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless 9.7" IPS TFT 1GB RAM 16GB.

Are we sure it's genuine from HP?

Smartbuy are the tablets that HP sells to businesses They are exactly the same, IDK about the packaging. I've just bought one though. It will be here by Thursday.

Same here. 16 GB Wifi for $99. I have an iPad, but for 100 bucks I couldn't pass it up. Hopefully we didn't get scammed.

It's not a scam as onSale is allegedly owned by PC Mall (owner of MacMall as well), but I think they have completed a whole lot more sales on Amazon then they really have. They must have sold 15-20,000 with how long its been up now. I bought 3 from onSale within the first 3 minutes, but I'm not planning on getting them.

I was able to get in on the Amazon Lightning deal for a 32GB, 1 from OfficeMax, and 3 from Datavis on eBay.

Ehh, I was afraid of that. I'll post back if I get an email confirming it was shipped.

All of my orders from them (onSale) are "Shipping Soon," but I wouldn't be so sure that guarantees anything.

$99 doorstop.

Though it might be a collector's item someday. A rare example of MegaFail. It would look absolutely smashing next to a Virtual Boy.

I ordered a 16GB TouchPad from OnSale via Amazon. It says it'll be delivered by August 30.

Really wish I lived in the US, would love to get one of these at such low prices

Idk, my local best buy had plenty in stock, but im not really sure if i should buy it or not. I already have an ipad, so im debating whether this would just be $100 wasted.

Mine's also showing as Shipping Soon, so I'll wait and see whether it's progressed by the morning. A local retailer is apparently selling them for NZ$139 (US$99) tomorrow so if I don't have a shipment notification in the morning then I'll pick up a local one if the rumour is true.

Even tossing out the possibility of any future support/development*, it's a screaming deal. It's a color Kindle, web slate with Flash (bash it if you like, but this thing can do Hulu natively without needing a special app/subscription), etc etc. No, it doesn't have the potential of an iPad for future development--but when I get down to it, my sister uses her iPad 2 for the same stuff I use my TouchPad for--internet, email, Facebook, and eBooks. Granted, your mileage may vary, but it's anything but a doorstop, and you know it.

*Android development is already going strong, and people have also even booted Ubuntu on it. The absurdly low cost of entry is going to really bolster the homebrew/indie development line for this thing...but even if I never see a single further update for the device, I'll be more than satisfied. ;)
