Anyone taking this seriously and claiming HTC is stupid, clearly has no idea what satire is.
It's nice to see a company trying something new and dropping the seriousness for a change. I approve

If you think this is refreshing ... You missed the boat in the failed, repeated one-sided satires by Microsuck and Shamesung. Nothing new, they did not work ... just silently focus in making your products the very best.

Looks

Well, it does look better than the iPhone... IMO it's the best looking smartphone out there, and it looked good before the iphone started looking like the HTC. If the HTC could run iOS I'd change...

"Apple's inferior performance and sound"? According to who?

They are touting their front facing stereo speakers.

In terms or performance and chip speed, many android phone makers have faster clocked cpu's, even quad core on paper. However, because of how horrible the optimization is with the software, in real time performance and lab tests, Apple regularly comes out on top when matched up with these quad core phones. Thanks to how tightly integrated and efficient their hardware and software are.

Not even first to market with a rap video. :D

http://youtu.be/Dt_EyfbjVJw

What seems sad is that this rapper took the money to create this song. EMENEM did a chrysler commercial but did not write a specific rap song. No respectible rapper does this. Your link is to a generic rap song, by a non named rapper (and not even a good one).

I thought the video was cheesy and stupid. And I think that worked to make it a bit funny. But overall, I dont think it will do much and it certainly will kill this rappers career IMO.

I guess HTC is trying to take a page out of T-Mobile's playbook, the antics of whose CEO are a complete joke. Prior to the release of the iPhone 6, I was a diehard Android user and my last Android phone was the HTC One M8, which I've since passed to my wife. Yes, the M8 is a nice phone, probably the best Android phone of 2014. However, it doesn't even come close to being in the same league as the iPhone 6. First off, the camera is just pitiful. The whole Ultrapixel gimmick fell flat on its face and HTC will, in fact, be ditching it for the next iteration of One. While the BoomSound speakers are excellent, the iPhone 6 accomplishes comparable sound quality. As far as the supposedly slower chip is concerned, HTC seems to be stuck in the "MOAR COREZ, MOAR SPEEDZ" mindset. The iPhone 6 is the smoothest device I've ever owned. Moreover, have they even seen the new iOS games that implement the Metal technology? I will say this, however. 2GB of RAM should be standard in today's high end devices.

One last thing. HTC has a program that they call the HTC Advantage, which promises all flagship devices to be upgraded to the latest version of Android within 90 days of Google releasing the code. How's that working out for you, HTC?

Blimey!

I thought Samsung ads were bad, but this takes the biscuit!

Apple can be a bit cheesy for my likes being English, but at least they target their audience well.

Who are HTC going for? A niche of a niche of a niche?

Smacks of an undergraduate project to me with all its flaws.

Can't see ANY competitor losing sleep over this.

Doesn't HTC know that the iPhone 6 is the 8th generation iPhone?
7th.
Apple considers iPhone 6 Plus to be iPhone 7,1

This is the way I look at it:

1st gen - iPhone
2nd gen - iPhone 3G/3GS
3rd gen - iPhone 4/4s
4th gen - iPhone 5/5s/5c
5th gen (so far) - iPhone 6/6+
Just as long as you realize this is all in your head.

iPhone and iPhone 3G are the only models that fall under the same 1st generation. Which partially explains why Apple gave iPhone (2G) buyers a rebate to get the 'fixed' 1st gen iPhone with 3G.

4/4S the only thing in common was the exterior style.
5/5S the only thing in common was the exterior style.

Each had next generation cellular transceivers, next gen SOC, etc.
