At the risk of not making an adult joke, I will just take it in the literal sense :D

I don't like the bent look at the bottom, that would simply make it harder to stick in your pocket.

I think it looks ok. But I see a lot of features that arent specifically unique to this device.

It might appeal to those who are interested in something than the iPhone or Palm Pre. But I dont think its an iPhone killer.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

Every iPhone "killer" so far has amounted to not much more than an iPhone jaywalker.

It seems as if people are ready for an iPhone killer, however 2 years after the initial release of the iPhone it is still at the top of its market..

I agree that the bent shape and the bottom is hideous. That was my biggest complaint when holding a google g1. Doubtfully an iPhone killer, but might be a popular alternative.

Looks nice but the thing that makes the iPhone unrivaled, IMO, is the app store. There are a ton of cell phones with better specs that are capable of doing more but the apps are what make the iPhone what it is.

Bingo...that's why all the others will struggle to compete. The "phone" itself is just OK, but it's all the apps that make the iPhone special.

What made the iPhone special before the app store?

Yeah the 2G went nearly a whole year before third-party apps. could be installed before "jailbreaking" and even without the app. store the iPhone became one of the most popular phones in the world. (if not the most popular)

Lol dang, everyone is trying to come after the iPhone! Oh well, my iPhone is still the BEST!

Oh well, I'm not returning my iphone 3G S for it!!

Exactly the iPhone was popular even before the app store.

The thing I like about this phone and the Google phones are the widgets. I think it would be so incredibly useful to be able to have widgets on the iphone lock screen, before you slide to unlock. Say have contact widgets where you can have 2 or 3 people you call most just be there in one tap. Or the weather widget to see the weather forecast without doing anything.

I think it's possible because of dashboard that OSX has on the Mac. Apple seems to be putting more OSX things on the iPhone, like spotlight, so maybe dashboard on the lock screen is the next step.

I love how there's a constant stream of 'iPhone killers' and yet none of them seem to hit the mark.

And notice that practically all new touchscreen smartphones are deemed 'iPhone killers' - why not G1 killers or HTC Touch Killers? mmmm;);)

i love that when i watched the video, a small advert for the iPhone 3G S popped up at the bottom of it!

i also thought it was funny during the WWDC keynote Apple went to the Times website and there was a huge BING ad on the page. Gotta love that stuff!

Looks nice. However, web browsing probably blows on it. Would I use it? Sure. However,

I'm going to wait it out with my trusty iPhone 3G until next June... then I'll upgrade to the new iPhone which will probably be amazing.

I think that the iPhone 3.0 OS is ugly and the notification system is obsolete, so I will consider HTC Hero and Palm Pre as an alternative in the near future (this doesn't mean that I don't like iPhone 3GS at all and maybe I will consider one).

I'm planning to get a touch phone in the next month, but I haven't decided wich one I will pick, yet. What do you think?

HTC, hmmm.... so I guess we can probably expect to shell out roughly $700 for one of these with a 2-year contract?

I thought about sticking with verizon and getting one of the HTC phones they have right now (even though they don't compare) but then I saw the price tag and laughed so hard I suffocated and nearly died. They cost twice as much as an iPhone and they're garbage.
