Looks okay to me. Heck, Apple had billions they could budget, and they still came up with a thick rounded rectangle.

LOL!!!!!!!

Man, I have to laugh at this! All I could say is... no wonder. No wonder...

The Apple Watch is even thicker (11.5mm) than Huawei's 11.3mm design. For obvious reasons, Apple does not highlight this aspect of the Watch's design. You won't find any mention of the thickness on Apple's web site.

The Apple Watch is 67% thicker than the iPhone 6. Think about that for a moment.

But like I said there are plenty of side profiles of Watch on Apple's website so they're clearly not hiding the thickness.

Damn all those car manufacturers with all their big budgets and we still get 4 wheels and a steering wheel. I want my flying car now! :D

Plus, isn't this the year that Doc Brown shows up in his 1985 DeLorean? I want my Mr. Fusion! :D

It looks like brushed stainless steel with gaudy gold coloring to me, and way too much gold color. If Apple really did patent a way to make "real" gold more cheaply by alloying it with boron nitride that takes up much more volume, that's a decent achievement.

Huawei would have been better off going with gold plating and perhaps a mix of colors in the link band. The edge also looks too blocky to me.

Agreed. And I wonder too with all these Android OEM watches trying so hard to look like a traditional watch, will any of them stand out? Or will they all look like a cheap(er) version of a traditional watch that you can get at Target or JCPenney?

The Huawei is still a much larger watch, being a circle 42mm across. Also, it looks thick because of the slab sides without contour and the band attaching near the bottom of the watch. The Apple Watch may be of similar thickness, but part of that is because of the heart rate sensor underneath, which doesnt take up the whole back and won't be visually noticeable, especially since the band attaches closer to the middle of the watch. In other words, the Apple is a smarter, more polished design.

Like Rogifan said, ultimately, the Hauwei still looks like a cheap, $250 jewelry counter watch at Macy's, which is what Apple is smartly trying to avoid. That isn't me simply being snobby about price. There are fantastic Seikos that are under $150 that high end watch owners still wear and respect. It's just that most cheaper watches look about as nice as they cost, outside of a few.
