That’s cool. Now I can look over my shoulder without moving my head.

I feel the off center camera would drive me crazy. Imagine using a web cam clipped all the way on the left side of your monitor.
You can still do that with you current phone.

I prefer this idea to the iPhone notch!
Wait till you see one pluses next phone (just announced) with no notch and no holepunch. Jus a slab of screen with thin bezels.

There's a thing called symmetry. I wouldn't expect left brained folks to understand the importance of design anyway...

Face ID has a lot more inside it than a camera... so I understand the notch and therefore deal with it. I prefer the tech inside with the notch that a hole punch without any tech.
A big part of the notch is a speaker, which no one needs. It's not like we talk on the phone anymore, and even if we do, the speaker can be anywhere, it doesn't need to be in the screen.

Of course you cannot satisfy everyone. Many would prefer a punch hole and a fingerprint under the screen. Some people want a traditional telephone speaker, most don't.

The feature piece appears to suggest the Honor phones will be difficult to get in the UK. This is not true, the UK consumer loves Hauwei products and the market is fully open to them. Europe likewise.

Where are the speakers on this device?

Just proves that Apple needlessly complicated things with its tacky TrueDepth camera system. No one needs that level of security. Also: no one cares about resolved tangents. A rounded corner doesn’t need to be “beautiful.” It’s just a corner.
Speak for yourself.

“No one needs that level security”? Says one person on a tech site. That’s an interesting statement, because the way I see it, Apple is leading the way in terms of providing the _highest_ level of security with Face ID and 3-D facial mapping, to protect the consumer and and clearly is leading the way when other manufacturers are following Apples footsteps in terms of developing their own facial mapping recognition.

48-megapixel rear camera? Surely a typo. I mean, DSLRs barely reach those resolutions.

for DSLR's, the benefit isn't necessarily in the resolution (though high resolutions are nice).

Camera's are very physics bound. the smaller the sensor the less light overall hits it. DSLR's are big and bulky often with large lenses because they let in a tremendous amount of light, with large sensors to catch it.

it's not unheard of to have lower resolution, older DSLR's still outperform anything a smartphone can produce, purely because of the volume of light they allow for.

Just remember, that in Cameras and photography, Resolution is not the biggest factor in photo quality.

any chance you own an iPhone with a notch? just wondering. Frankly I think the hole punch would annoy me more, but the notch doesn't bother me. Its like a divider between useful info to the right and left. a hole is just a hole.
I'd almost guarantee not. How do I know? Actual iPhone X and XS owners know the notch is a non-issue. It's people that don't even own an iPhone with a notch that highly exaggerate the notch.

Are you saying that people need to get HIV to know that it's bad and they don't want it? Guess not everyone has the capacity to visualize but with electronics you can actually demo it in person before committing to buying.

The way I see it it similar to going to a theater to watch a movie and deciding what is more annoying, some guy's head in the corner blocking the screen (hole punch) or a bus parked sideways in center (wide notch).
