Far more impressive than the Fold 2. I just really want/need the iPhone version of this. I suspect we will see it in 2023.

foldable phones, are you the "3D TV" of the phone market?

Does the overall size/volume, price, weight and awkward holding would be worth vs user experience?

one would assume that video/photo editing, GPS and web browsing are the winners here, but other stuff? I mean, that new extra screen space is better for …

message apps? -no (no inner cam for animojis)
instagram? -no
games? -well it depends on future screen ratio adoption, but mostly no
email? -maybe, how much better?
movies? -definitely no
make a phone call? -no
video call? -no (the front camera is on the other side…)
listen music? -no
using office? -(really?…)
reading a book? -well, maybe
take pictures? ???

Subsidize $2000 of it and take off the backdoor spying software and I’ll consider it

Unless it ends up being years from now, I'm not upgrading from my 12 Pro Max until Apple releases a foldable option. I cannot wait for that day to come.

The folding display technology is premature.
Once they somehow get rid of that ugly crease, and eliminated the inevitable screen damage, then folding phones will be worth considering.
According to the writeup there is some newer technology that minimizes the crease and screen damage.

Maybe this is why Apple has been exploring hoping on the foldable bandwagon.

Probably the best foldable implementation so far but for $2800 I'd rather spend it on something like a Surface Pro X and Galaxy S21 Ultra with money left over.

There is already a way to make existing phone screens bigger without the need for folding technology.... just move them closer to your face. ;)

I used a magnifying glass when I had the iPhone 4 and 4s. We've come a long way since 3.5".

You can bash it all you want because it’s not an Apple product but you cannot deny this is a great piece of technology. Huawei really improved on what Samsung had already made great in their second Galaxy Fold. Even if I’m an Apple fan I really get excited about new tech in general and to me this device looks fantastic, and it will only get better.

What problem is a foldable full screen “phone” solving? I have yet to see one in any sci-fi movie. ;)

Fitting an iPad Mini in your pocket without wearing MC Hammer pants. Question is, how much premium are you willing to pay?

I thought CCP/PLA-owned Huawei was put in sanction and were cut off from US supplies.

Did sleepy Joe revive it?

Nothing foldable can fit in my jeans pocket or back pocket. I know it from experience.

With shelter in place for much of the world, I'm willing to pay a $0 premium for a halo device with no benefit to me.

Although the tech looks cool, it doesn't solve a tech problem that I am currently having, therefore not worth the price.
