Does anyone actually want foldable devices? Innovation is still great either way though...
Um, yes? I played around with a Galaxy Fold 2 at Best Buy a little while back, and I thought it was cool as hell. If the next version of it can use the pen — and if it comes down in price a bit — it might be my next phone.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sammy rebranded it as the new Galaxy Note in a year or two.

For $2800 I'd rather spend it on a Surface Pro X and Galaxy S21 Ultra with money left over.
The Microsoft and Samsung Rumors websites, are just over there!
Hopefully we can all be a little wider minded and not so microscopic in our thinking that we can't imagine what other user experiences outside of our own might be.

MacRumors did open the door of talking 90% of an article about an Android device and doing a super loose relation at the end of the article to an idea that Apple might be doing something similar. So I believe mi7chy's point was looking at the perspective of those who are going to buy an Android foldable tablet, they could buy a fully functioning Windows computer tablet and a top of the line Samsung phone and still save money. With the same 90%-10% perspective one could assume that if Apple does make a foldable phone, and it costs $2,800 that you could buy a MacBook and an iPhone and still have money left over.

I believe it was a reasonable thought and relevant to the article and with no need of redirection to another website.

I don’t get these foldable devices. They aren’t too good of a smartphone, they aren’t too good of a tablet either. But they fold and cost almost triple the price of either tablet or a phone. I honestly don’t see the benefits of it.
So you have one to make the judgement they aren't a good phone or tablet? Or just talking out your 4th point of contact?

Id go back to a flip phone before I owned one of these things. Foldable phones are one of the dumbest designs Ive ever seen in any industry.

I’m quite happy with a pocketable 6.1” screen in my pocket and an iPad at home. I won’t be buying a foldable device and certainly not at the predicted price. It’s not really solving an issue I have if I’m brutally honest. Hopefully it’ll be developed but at the niche end.

Rollable smartphones are the way to go
I think it would fit better to Apple devices
Dont get me wrong, Z Fold for example or Z Flip are pretty sleek foldable phones but it doesnt sound as Apple compliant
Rollable phones have wow effect when the screen is stretching

Yeah - would be cool if it really rolls out a siginficant amount of screen-space.
