You mixed a bunch of unsubstantiated allegations about Huawei with a bunch of articles about Blu (a different company entirely, making cheap crap).

I’ll make it worse: your phone is built in China. It’s probably spying on you. I am not worried about my phone spying on me, and if anyone is tracking my web browsing habits, that’s Facebook, Google, Twitter, Microsoft & al.

As for Windows 10 vs MacOS: I use both on a daily basis. Windows is better in my opinion for general desktop use, trumping MacOS through its flexible taskbar and window management options, a much better file management utility (Explorer vs Finder) and built-in file/printer sharing and remote desktop solution. There’s also a much bigger application availability on Windows. Windows 10 is also more stable - for me, in fact, perfectly stable - than MacOS that ironically runs on controlled hardware. You can also have more types of peripherals and much more powerful hardware running Windows 10 than MacOS, where the choice is extremely limited. Last, there’s just no comparison when it comes to gaming.

Back on topic: I’m happy that Huawei has a decent CPU line to break the Qualcomm/Samsung duopoly in the high end sector of the Android market. More choice for consumers - keeps prices in check.

And what software is running on that phone? Android? Then why are we even bothering? Or are they rewriting the system for their new hardware, i guess not? Marketing rubbish.

Look like the Huawei Mate 10 will be bazelless.
After battery no bazel is a major feature for me.
Will be very interested how they implement unlock.
Launch Munich, 16th October 2017.

Windows from 2006 is vastly different than Windows in 2017. Would it be a fair comparison for me to say Windows 10 is vastly superior to Mac OS X tiger? Well of course it is.

All android tablets range from terrible to passable. iPads are so much better. Not a god idea to judge android using there tablets.
personal experience: i just used a new win desktop i got for my colleague. not a top of the range but with 16 gig ram too.
my late 2011 MBP with ssd runs much better. and the OS and built in browser far more fluid than windows and their stripped down browser.
switched in 2011, never going back.

oh, and yes, every 6 month formatting vs no formatting or reinstallation in the past 6 years. lol

The poster forgot another important feature that comes to most windows machines. Virus :p

Notice how Apple rarely mentions the tech inside their phones (except at Keynotes). The specs aren't important; it's the experience of using the device that matters. Apple still has a mastery of that. As others have pointed out, there's little more Huawei can brag about beyond their specs because they run Android, which isn't under their control.

Correction if I may and it's something I've noticed BOTH Apple do and some on these forums do.

When Apple specs are lower than competitors specs then "Specs are not important" it's all about the user experience.

When Apple's specs are higher, then specs are shown off and made a BIG deal of all of a sudden.

Funny that it's it.
It's entirely expected, you don't bring attention to a weak point, what else would you expect any company to do.

It's just funny so many here can't actually admit that. :)

Apple has done a good job at power management and quality of mass production (yield).
I know that in total the number of Android based devices is way higher, but Apple has the high risk of a failed flagship products, while there are always alternatives on Android.

What I meant to say is, Apple is managing innovation and risc at the same time.
They absolutely have to, and I believe they do a good job.

Your point being what exactly?

Your allegation that Huawei is spying on us using their phones or network hardware is just that, an allegation. You provided absolutely no proof. Because there is no proof, they got investigated and nobody found anything.

Your post was made in bad faith, by mixing articles about BLU in a topic on Huawei. Different kettle of fish altogether.

Huawei is a giant telecom multinational that stands to lose billions and virtually their entire international business if it is ever discovered they engage in the kind of practices you imply. BLU is small fry selling $50 phones, and very likely whatever tracking they had, they had it there for marketing reasons - to make another buck from unsuspecting clients. Not that some US carriers haven't been doing similar things!

My answer was appropriate - you either believe they spy on you, in which case you're paranoid, or you're just trolling, in which case you deserve no respect.

So unless you have facts instead of innuendo, or at least some decent argument, please spare me.

It doesn't come out of thin air, as you're implying. They come from harmful user behaviour, just like they come on MacOS. Or would you consider malware a MacOS feature, since it has plenty of it?

Yeah, nothing new here. Windows is better than it was but year after year I hear the same thing from my friends:
their year old pc doesn't work due to crap hardware, adware, or infestation of viruses.
Yes, windows is a better copy of the Mac than ever. No thanks.
If you are happy with windows why are you here? Im happy with MAC, I don't go to windows users and try to change their minds. Good luck.

Huawei touted the Kirin 970 AI mobile chipset's built-in "neural processing unit" at the IFA consumer electronics trade show in Berlin, claiming that the technology is "20 times faster" than a traditional processor.

Great? I guess? I'm pretty clued up on this tech stuff and I fail to see how this super fast ML/AI chip benefits me as a normal user in this generation. Couple of years down the line this will be useful but the sector feels to nascent for this to add much value at this point? Especially if I'm reading this right and this processor is supplementary to the cpu. Someone please correct me where I'm wrong though.

Can be a new windows desktop with a mechanical hard drive and an intel celeron. Without more information then its hard to judge. Not hard to believe a 2011 macbook or any laptop of that era with ssd would run better than even a i5 desktop with mechanical hard drive.

Stripped down browser? What's missing in edge that safari has? My main browser is chrome but there are some feature in edge that I like and I think they are pretty comparable. Excluding the extensions chrome offers.

Who said I am trying to change anyone's minds? I don't car what you guys use lol. I like MAC OS and think its more polished than Windows when it comes to the interface. I am actually in the market for one now because I want to switch to final cut instead of adobe premiere. Final cut is superior imo to any video editing software available on Windows.

Yeah yeah the same complaint every year about old pc that doesn't work. You realize windows pcs comes with some of the lowest specs. So of course the perception is going to be, oh I used windows 10 and it was awful. Then you realize they used it on a intel celeron processor with 4Gb of ram then they compare it with an i5/i7 macbook with ssd and 16Gb ram. Do you honestly believe majority of viruses and adware just magically appear on windows computers? The users put them there...Usually because they want to download some free and possible pirated software.

You have to work hard to get a macOS malware. Whereas I get almost weekly notification from the IT department about virus. Sounds like (and I had many years of painful experience of cleaning virus in win machines) And yes, I work in a huge research establishment where most people Windows. Yay!

You are totally right about US vendors monetizing personal data being as bad as a state sponsored invasion of privacy.
You are uninformed about power of macOS. Mac has easy built in printer/file/desktop sharing. Windows 10 is demonstrably less stable and the "taskbar" is a mess. Software updates in Win10 remains a clunky experience. And their hybridized OS UI is ok but not great. As far as file management... you are kidding, right?

You must be using Apple software from a parallel universe then. Nothing is in any way simpler in macOS or iOS - it's usually just different and in many cases even more cumbersome and less intuituve. Especially on macOS, a lot of stuff also is slower than Windows or Linux on the same Mac. At least that's my experience from the last 12+ years.

I've been a Windows user since Windows 3.0 and I disagree. So you must be using Windows from a parallel universe then. I'm using Windows 10 at work every day and it is pretty terrible in terms of UI consistency; in fact, it's a mess. They put a fresh coat of paint on the first couple of layers of the OS but when you dig a little deeper to access the more advanced or hidden stuff, the UI of those parts is like 20 years old. Performance overall is very acceptable, but nothing earth shattering compared to Windows 7.

core i7. these PCs are used for academic and industrial research, not facebooking and playing games.

Will never be sold outside of China because they will be run over back and forth by patent lawyers from dozens of companies.
