There, completed it for you, looks like you were in a hurry and didn't complete the sentence.
Affect. You almost had it.

These replies stink of delusional Apple fanboyism.
The company you once loved are dead - & other companies are leading the way. Fact.
When did Apple lead? When were they first at new technology? Apple always just took existing tech and made it simple.
The lens assemblies of the P9 cameras are by Leica. The sensor modules are Sony's IMX286.
First 64bit ARM processor. First BT 4.0 device. First with NVMe storage. First (and only) 1080P 120FPS recording. First usable fingerprint scanner. First (and only) with hardware encryption. First with audio/MIDI support for musicians. First with Mac address randomization, multipath TCP...do you want me to go on?

Are you sure? This is their official press release:
“The P9 and P9 Plus were co-engineered between Huawei and Leica. This is the first collaboration between the two companies following a long-term partnership that was announced in February. From the very beginning, Leica has been deeply involved in the development of these devices. There has been significant technological collaboration between Huawei and Leica around many aspects of the camera, including optical design, imaging quality, image data processing, optimization, and the mechanical construction of the camera module to the graphic user interface. The devices meet Leica’s highest imaging quality standards.”
Sounds like a lot of beating around the bush to me, without actually stating which parts (if anything) are made by Leica.
Yes.Are you sure?
I should be more precise: The lens assembly was designed by Leica. It is obviously not manufactured by hand in Germany like some of Leica Camera AG's other products (if that was the case, the camera module alone would cost more than the entire phone today). What Leica contributed was optical engineering. This is part of a strategic adjustment of the company. They are currently seeking to collaborate with other electronics manufacturers as well. Their chairman recently stated that in the future there will only be camera phones and high-end cameras, i.e. the middle tier will go away. Are you sure? This is their official press release:

Where do you get nvme is exclusive to Apple? Other non apple devices have it as well. It's not exclusive. So is this an actual Leica sensor/lens, or is it like that other recent phone that had Leica stamped on it but neither the sensor or lenses from Leica?
Oh wait, my bad. This IS the same phone that reviewers already tested and found the camera to be only above average. And there's no Leica in this phone except for the rubber-stamped approval by Leica (in exchange for $$$ no doubt).
As a longtime serious photographer who loves Leica and Zeiss I feel ashamed they are lending their names to companies for money.
As for Apple, they'll have a huge advantage over everyone else. The A9 processor, which has the highest data transfer rate from a sensor to CPU (and the only one in the world that can capture 1080P at 120 FPS), already puts them above competitors. The A10 will likely improve on this further. Dual sensors aren't any good if they share the same limited bandwidth to the processor, slowing down the picture/video taking experience.
The other advantage (which is also an Apple exclusive) is NVMe (PCI Express) storage. If you're generating twice the data then you're going to need to quickly get that data stored.
I think this will give Apple far more options when it comes to different ways to utilize those dual sensors (that is, IF they're coming out).
You'll have to wait for the iPhone 9 to see.
I'm hoping Nikon do something similar. I can't wait to start carrying 2 X 70-200mm f 2.8'swith me! I better join a gym!

They aren't, I can state this for a fact.Sorry, not exclusive. More like the only manufacturer that has bothered to put such a high-end controller (that they custom designed, BTW) into a mobile device. Everyone else is pretty much tied to whatever can connect to the SoC they get from Qualcomm (or whoever).
This shows me Apple is looking to the future, otherwise there'd be no need for something so powerful in a phone or tablet.
Hmmm why does apple need to have the bumps? Maybe it has something to do with all the whiners that cry and moan when the phone isn't as thin as possible..... because it's too heavy otherwise. Don't bitch at apple, bitch at those people.Except laying flat on a table.
Funny how even Huawei seem to be able to make the lenses flush and a classy looking design. At least the Chinese guys are trying even if the Americans (and a particular Brit) have given up.

All I'm going to say is I work for a very large technology company. I would have given it? Assume much? There are other devices. I know you want to believe that Apple is looking is looking forward to the future as if they are the only one, except they aren't the only company doing that. Have a nice day.Sure you can. Where's your proof? If you had anything you would have already stated it.

I bet the second camera on iPhone will be for optical zoom.
Looking forward to the next all new iPhone. But, have to say, these iPhone copy cats are becoming better at refining their design and they're catching up incredibly fast now since Apple hasn't done much to their design. iPhone won't even be a competitor soon. Apple is in desperate need of lifting its game. 2017's phone will need to be astonishingly lovely, no pokey cameras or joiny-join antennas. And the software will need to be smooth and even more beautiful than it is. Excessive pricing will also need to be addressed. Customers will be too savvy for overpriced hardware especially when the profit margin is entirely an expression of corporate excess.
Great spin on it. Burberry and LV aren't respected brands. Apple's in trouble though. I just hope they realize this soon. iPhone 6/6s was really an ugly design from day one. There profit margin is insanely high and they can't even pay their factory workers properly. Makes little sense. There are planned protests that I'm aware of for the next iPhone launch coordinated with with unions. Should make for an interesting launch this year especially if the design doesn't change much.Copycats can only take it so far... Just look at Xiaomi. People will always want and respect great, original designs. If they didn't, the Burberry's and LV's of the world would have ceased to exist long ago.
Apple's biggest compeition will continue to be themselves and the public's insatiable appetite for something new. Until OEMs can come up with great, original designs of their own, I don't think Apple has too much to worry about... After all, this Huawei looks like an iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 had a slightly deformed baby with a permanent "Leica" tattoed on its forehead.
As for excessive pricing, truly savvy customers understand that lower prices and longer spec sheets don't always equal better value. Superior performance, ease of use, security, higher quality materials, better build quality, timely software upgrades, great design and world class support all add up to a tremendous value in Apple's favor. While the strong dollar has made them very expensive in some parts of the world, you can't fault Apple for that. And profit margin is entirely an expression of how well a company is run, not corporate excess.
Here you go:If two cameras can produce a better image. I wonder if 3 cameras will do even better.
Apple in trouble? I wonder how many companies would give there right arm to be in that kind of trouble!Great spin on it. Burberry and LV aren't respected brands. Apple's in trouble though. Well my point is they could be in an even better position.Apple in trouble? I wonder how many companies would give there right arm to be in that kind of trouble!
iPhone at one point in time was described as “It’s like a beautiful old Leica camera” by Steve Jobs. Now, Huawei apparently is co engineering with Leica.

Phone times they are a changin' it appears. This is the same kind of stuff that was happening with the Mac years ago -- Little innovation. High pricing. Poor design principles. And then the near death experience saved at one minute to midnight.
Get it together Apple, please! And that doesn't mean partnering with other brands, it means improving your brand back to stellar heights well and above other brands. We don't want to be anywhere near midnight ever again and prefer the clock set at 9:41am instead.
They aren't, I can state this for a fact.
I really think this is spot on. I still have my 4. Just awesome.I remember getting my hands on the iPhone 4, and appreciate the comment Steve made comparing it to a Leica camera, it was a phone so far ahead of the competition at the time. Now apple is part of the herd, I like my 6S but it's no iPhone 4 in relation to the design at the time, looks more like its followed Others. Frankly disappointed we would get this design a 3 red year, as you say , getting lazy
Something crazy about that many cameras and the peculiar arrangement that makes it so lovely to me.
