Alright, I'm really stuck. Which is the better option?

If I go with the store, I'm choosing the one closest to the Hub. I'd like to avoid a (long) line if at all possible.

Hub is the fastest, if they have a Customer Center. You'll want to check their hours on when they open for customer pickup. Store is good if they get their shipments early and get them ready for pickup immediately. Apparently some places will hold your items and have it ready the next day (which is really weird. I never had that problem before). If you do go for the hub, be ready for a line. It won't be as bad as the Apple Store though.

I've just read things about rude workers (and since its 8am, I'm not prepared to deal with that lol) at the hubs. The CC is probably 5-7mins from the closest store, so I imagine that they'd get their stuff first (again, could be wrong).

If I get there at maybe 7:30 and sit in the car or stand by the door, will I have a better chance of getting out of there quicker?

All depends if they allow it. Many of them will have trucks coming in and out during that time. If the parking lot is in any way never the truck exit, the facility might refrain from you parking early and sitting there. Best to check in with them.

The hub will have it first, but first thing in the morning will also have a line. If the hub is convenient for you, just send it there and pick it up at an odd time, like mid-morning.

I'm going with the store 2 minutes from my house. I'll pick it up on my way home. I have waited 2 weeks - I can wait til the end of Friday :)

Overall I've had good luck at my local hub in southern California.

The workers aren't exactly "rude", but they kinda act like they'd rather be back in the warehouse than dealing with people. Honestly they just take your ID, name match, and you sign. Very little words have to be spoken.

Just pretend like you're at the DMV or Post Office and your expectations won't be ruined. ;)

Then I may be better off picking it up at the store if that's the case. I remember when I was dropping a package off at the UPS store a week ago, a truck was there either delivering or picking up (this was around 11am).

Obviously I'd like my phone as soon as possible, but I'd rather wait in my house to go somewhere versus standing in a line for an hour in a warehouse

Lol, I wasn't planning to have high expectations anyway!

There may be. I'm not sure - I haven't selected an option yet. I'm still sitting and staring at the pickup package at UPS location tab

I'm probably just being silly. I chose the hub that most of my packages usually arrive at and become "Out For Delivery" but apart of me is just really hoping that I didn't delay my phone. When I chose to pick it up there it listed Friday as the day to pick it up. I guess I'll cross my fingers.

FWIW, that's what I do. My store usually gets deliveries between 10 and 11. The MyChoice app pings me to tell me they've scanned it in at the store. Then maybe a half hour or so later they call me to tell me I can come get it. It's much faster than waiting for delivery at my house (which usually doesn't happen for sig-required packages until 6-8pm at night). It's also much more convenient for me, as it's closer to me and the staff are more friendly. My hub has no parking and no real customer service desk (even though it's a Customer Center), and it takes them forever to find anything.

If you're feeling unsure, call the store that you want to pick up at and ask them what time they get packages, and if they make them available for pickup the same day.

Is there no going back from choosing to pick up vs the item being shipped to home?

I believe the request can be cancelled. I've cancelled before, but only before the request was processed by UPS. I'm not sure what they do if they've already put the change through.

The one closest to my house has rude staff (like, snotty and I went out of my way to help you rude). When I went in last week, I wanted to double check that the label was prepaid. The lady was like, "Yeah. It is." Then I asked for a receipt to track it. "Uh huh. Hang on. Here." and handed it to me rudely. I mean, maybe she had something up her butt, but my friend who goes there frequently for packaging supplies said that they're always that rude.

Maybe I am better off with the hub if that's the service I get lol

My initial choice was the Store, however I've read here and been told by UPS that having it go to the Store will likely delay it a day because once it gets to the Hub they have to change the label before it can go back out.

Ok, just went to select the store for delivery. It said estimated pick up is the 28th. Uh, no. lol

So @AppleChic76 is right on the new label

I went ahead and selected the hub

I advise you to call UPS and have them re-route it to the UPS HUB (not UPS STORE) closest to your house. In that way, it's on schedule for Friday the 25th still and you can go when they open.

That's what that post said they did, right? Or am I reading that wrong?
