People just like rich, darker colors, and sharper images, so people get glossy (i am not trying/starting this debate over again) Some people can handle the glare, some people can't basically. All about preference.

To OP

It's matte. Was your MBP a BTO one or just stock?
I would call apple to get this thing sorted out. BTO maybe be a bit harder though

i still do not know why upgrading the hdd makes apple think its tainted when its their drive they installed

who cares about glossy this or matte that? you didn't get what you ordered and apple are obliged to send you the correct order. they are not obliged to give you a discount or a freebie, but if you're nice and polite (which i'm sure you are) it's no problem to ask. you might get lucky.

i agree, we already determinded it was matte, and that he should call apple about what to do, any further posts start the debate about glossy and matte, its not my fault
