Are ads news? And who says it’s “humorous”? I can go watch the ad myself, and I’ll decide what I think of it. Its not product, services, or other meaningful rumors. Is MR going to next tell me what Tim Cook did over the weekend?

Commercial was funny, but where the **** is that house!?

To moderators: oops, sorry!

Didn't see that anyone actually answered this - assuming there's not some digital trickery going on, his view is looking SE towards the Los Angeles downtown skyline, so I'd assume it's up in the hills, perhaps up by Griffith Observatory somewhere.

That was the whole point of the ad: "no one knows Jon Hamm"

THAT is what you thought the whole point of the ad was??

Silly old me thought the point of the ad was that Apple TV+ has countless movies and TV shows from all the biggest names in the business and you're missing out on them.

To think I believed Jon Hamm was just the vehicle to list all the stars that are already there to make people think "I should check out some of those shows on Apple TV+"... so disappointed in myself

I've also never heard the name before, never seen Mad Men, what gives.
You are the average of your five closest friends and apparently, your friends don't watch Mad Men or anything else he's in, so neither do you

Some people live under a rock apparently.

I thought the joke was that "jon hamm" isn't even a real person. I don't recognize his name or his face. I watch TV shows and movies on a fairly regular basis. If anyone else out there is like me, the joke might be falling a bit flat.

I suspect you're right - it didn't occur to me that so many people wouldn't know who Jon Hamm is, and that'd certainly torpedo the joke.

And some, like me, just don't live in the USA and are not really interested in Hollywood movies. I really had no idea who was Jon Hamm before googling him, and I haven't seen Mad Men. I never understood why the U.S. has such a strong culture of celebrity. Actors are just regular folks, like all of us.
