I might ask how many comments you feel you have to make to come onto this thread seemingly just to wind other posters up by suggesting they’re wrong in not liking iOS 26.
As I said above, I like MR and having a great time interacting on their website. Maybe posters don’t always agree with my point of view, but that’s how she goes.

But the above feels like trolling.

One doesn’t have to love iOS 26 and are free to throw completely subjective opinions about it. But that goes both ways.

I’ve come to a conclusion that people who like Liquid Glass are able to see the illusion. They can visualize the Safari controls as separate pieces of glass with real refractions, they can visualize the icons as individual little chicklets of glass, they can visualize a bunch of pieces of glass in the control center, and the whole thing makes sense.

I think people like us (or maybe just me, personally) in this thread have a harder time seeing the illusion. At the end of the day, it is a flat display pretending to be 3D. I’ve said this once before, but when I have an edible (sorry, prudes), the entire illusion works. It’s gorgeous other than the icon refractions that I continue to hate. Once I wake up in the morning, the illusion is broken for me again.

Since Apple doesn’t seem to be letting up on Liquid Glass, I’m suppose I’m going to try to lean more into the illusion

I just noticed that, in Messages, the button to go up to the last read message is not aligned with the call button.

Maybe I’m cynical but I always get suspicious when I see one of these stories suddenly appear in the media.

Agree. My skepticism is heightened. With Apple’s increased hacking warnings now, the ever-more-insistent “reminders” of v26’s availability, and the misleading ease with which certain taps will perform the “update,” there is more than a ring of desperation here. And then there is moi, clam happy on v18.7.2, v18.7.4, and Sequoia depending on device. Only my AppleTV4K and HomePods have automatically made it to v26.3 and neither of those work all that well.

As you should be.
Apple has shown themselves willing to be very fast & loose with the truth too often in recent years.

Apple won't let my 13Pro update past 18.7.1. Does this mean it's vulnerable, or not? If so, a sly way to get me on 26.

Is anyone else surprised how many bugs 26.4 seems to be fixing? I’m not a beta user in prod (I’ve dealt with more beta releases than I care to admit) but I’ve been hearing so much good about it I went to 26.4. All those minor errors are disappearing.

I am impressed for sure.

As a fellow Liquid Glass hater, do you see changes to Liquid Glass in the RC that weren’t there prior?

I SWEAR my keyboard is more transparent and I swear the glass effect itself looks glassier. More like glass, less like epoxy.

Honestly, I never noticed. Last time I noticed that was back on Windows Vista.
