Fair enough. I push back because I'm so over the relentless torrent of hate on this site, and the pile on any positive post or thread gets. My ignore list is growing daily.

There are plenty who have genuine issues, I've got no problem with that. The way the culture in this forum is going though, it's turning into a hate club. It's probably the single biggest gathering of Apple haters. I should probably just log out and try to find somewhere that is less full of bile.

Maybe dislike for 26 is piled on, I don't think the majority is done needlessly, as many would like to continue using an iPhone/Mac and iOS/macOS. While an extreme example, vocal internet outrage to change a design choise. Yes, the people compaining about 26 would be vastly smaller in number to the userbase.

Just maybe, someone with pull, can steer away from yearly releases just for the sake of releasing something, increasing bugs and issues and add options for visual aesthetic elements that people can choose. While Apple is in a business to make money, they still need to wear a mask that servers the users interests enough before they start looking elsewhere.

Yes I need my safe bubble of fellow anti-iOS26 members refusing to conform. I would like to buy another iPhone in the future. If it was less of an issue, this thread would have died off long before 44 pages.

I could also use a safe bubble where members say nobody wants a small/mini phone, where using an Air is a compromise (hardware wise) after evaluating my own usage habits and determining is it not. Which can be seen on threads of liking the device.

Edit: I don't even care about people coming in and arguing the opposite, this is the internet. Good for them they are having a better experience with it.

I’m sure Apple appreciates the indirect feedback advising of the folly of yearly releases that result in poor user experiences and will take serious stock in such feedback.

Liquid Glass
I liked it at first. Now, I really don't. Someone in Jason Snell of Six Colors 'State of Apple' yearly survey said that Liquid Glass is going to age like milk and I agree with him.

At this point, after nearly 20 years, iOS is a mature OS. Weird UI bugs like this simply shouldn't be happening.

With a user base of a billion or so and people in business and governments using iOS, Apple should be aiming for a conservative set of releases that are rock solid, not shipping bugs left right and centre.
Very well said. While your point is about iOS 26, I have the same thought about macOS: it is a mature platform and yet Apple has been making it worse since Big Sur, with Tahoe abandoning any semblance of sensible UI principles. For a company that controls the whole widget, Apple is a poor steward of these mature operating systems.

When the sky starts falling, they will think damm, we we unable to comprehend his greatness at the time..

Big corps can monitor public opinion, one voice won't bring change, untill a momentum of others join. Speaking in general, I'm not delusional enough to believe iOS26 dissatisfaction is outside the minority.

Breaking the cycle of got mine F you, line must go up needs to start eventually. Under promising and over delivering would make better releases.

I’ve seen on MR people believe their opinion represents the masses. Sometimes it does and Apple does listen. But Apple is on a roll right now. Revenue is up, customers are up. Active devices are up. Apple absolutely monitors public opinion. But there is a difference between constructive criticism and the hyperbole found on Internet forums.

So continue to buy products or not. I’m not delusional enough to believe that the opinions in MR forums represent the masses. Nor do I believe the alleged dissatisfaction of iOS 26 is as far and wide as believed here.

my personal opinion is the average person (IRL) is less bullish on iOS 26 but also doesn't really care and is locked in. We'll get new software in the fall, software versions have become relatively disposable and transient like fashion.

Think of us poor souls with an intel chip... Apple is abandoning us to Tahoe! What a disaster... indeed, aging like milk. At least with ios 26 we can look forward to 27 squishing some of the mess.

I used iOS26 a bunch yesterday when testing out a neighbors iPhone Air..

Ugh.. I have no idea how folks are doing it.

There is so much I hate about it (none of it new commentary so I won't rehash it) and when one dials in all the various accessibility tweaks it just gets flat out "ugly".

What a horrendous release.
Just embarrassing stuff.

Unless the crew at OCLP figures out how to patch the T2 chip, looks like I will be stuck with Sonoma on my 2018 MacBook Air. Love iOS 26 on my iPhone 11 and wouldn't mind Tahoe.

100% correct. 26 is the garbage dump of OS's.

100% incorrect.

Not sure why anyone would say “this is embarrassing stuff”. It’s not. People may not like it for their own reasons, but 26.3 is solid.

It’s not ugly in the least. Completely subjective opinion.

You're in a thread titled "I absolutely loathe iOS 26"

To your point, opinions are subjective.

There's no need to spend time refuting everyone you disagree with.

This thread simply isn't for you.

So YOU are deciding on which threads for whom?
You are on a discussion forum after all and everyone's opinion is valid and welcomed.

I for one have no issues with iOS 26, but I probably should not say it in this thread as it is "not for me" ... what a joke

Everyone's opinion is valid, absolutely.

I'm not sure we need 80+ comments that are refuting what a particular thread is about though.

(that's how many posts that user has made in just this thread)

I'd say maybe a dozen or so is probably good when it's in full disagreement with the topic thread, intent and nearly everyone posting within it. Beyond that it seems prudent to move on as the point is made.

I’m having a great time interacting in an iOS 26 thread. Maybe MR posters don’t agree with my point of view but that’s how she goes some times.

How many comments are need med that read iOS is “absolutely horrible?” If you need to repeat the same thing maybe move on as the point is made. Right?

It sure seems you apply different standards here, may I remind you of certain people's activities in Vision Pro threads?
Some people using the term "gimpbook" in MacBook Neo threads probably a dozen times last week alone?
But hey, it's the internet, everyone has an opinion and that's fine as long as we stay within the rules for this site.

To get back on topic: We are 3 months away from an iOS 27 beta and seeing if Apple had enough time since Dye left and Ternus/Lemay took over design to enact any meaningful changes. I am hoping for more than just adding even more new accessibility settings. A "Liquid Glass=OFF" button isn't going to be enough. There are many more elements of the entire iOS design that have not been touched in years. Custom launcher support, an icon picker, and a developer settings menu would quash most complaints by giving everyone control over the look and feel of their phone. It would also probably win over a bunch of Android users who are primarily on the OS due to the customization freedom. Liquid Glass can stay, but give us options. The number one thing everyone gets excited about at WWDC is more customization.
