I think people need to give the updated look some time. We had pretty much the same comments when Apple moved to the flat look. Now the icons still look flat but they look closer to iOS 6. You can tell them apart.

It seems things have settled down with my icons loading on my iPhone 13 screen. Scrolling across pages no longer requires waiting for the icons to appear. Prior to that it was an empty box then the icon would show up. Overall it's a nice looking update to iOS.

Hopefully for those that were begging for a change because iOS was looking rather boring and now don't like the look. Be careful what you wish for because you might get your wish, though not the one you wanted. 🥳

Just installed it and it looks awful. I'm restoring back to iOS 18. Bummer because iOS 18 has frame drops and a contrast issue on my 13PM but at least looks better. Also, I guess I won't update my MB Air. I don't want to feel like I'm using Windows Vista.

Haha indeed windows got better and better until 7, then became a monster. Windows 10 went a long way towards redemption but windows 11 is moving more towards a dumb terminal feel with intrusive ads, widgets and mandatory net connection for some features. Still, I can’t do macOS for some reason. To me windows is like a person opening the door saying come on in, but macOS feel like someone behind the door just saying meh, you work it out 😄 and I just can’t get my head around it.
What’s made you angry about my post @maxoakland ?

I am scared to put it on my wife's phone, but eventually I am going to have to do it, right...
I think you and your wife will be fine with the new UI/UX, a slight adjustment period and both will forget about it. Don’t attention to the Drama Queens it’s always like this even when iOS went flat and calls for another person to get fired and now people are hailing the flat iOS as better.

My personal opinion, so far I like it and I have kept an open mind to it.

What I don’t get is how they managed to get an approval to prioritise a new GUI. They do have other parts and a bit of a backlog of things that I would have considered more important to fix.

It’s not like the old GUI was bad and looked dated
What? People have been asking for a new ui for years wdym if anything the new design lacked changes

Just “up”graded my iPhone to iOS 26 and I absolutely hate it. It’s visually the ugliest iOS Apple has ever produced. The icons all have a distracting (and non-sensical) edge to them. The blurred wallpapers look nothing like they used to.

It’s so ugly I’m thinking of cancelling my iPhone Air order and looking at Samsung options.
I completely agree. The people that approved this should be fired. Seriously, looks so unprofessional, looks like a sketch. As in typing this, the website banner is on top of what I’m writing lol. It’s so bad.
I think it’s pretty great so far. Too bad for you.
You have no taste. This is horrible

Will you get Samsung Edge? Foldable phones are cool. You might want to check those out

I only just played with it for s few minutes. Do like the folders, but not so much the look of the app icons, but maybe they just don’t work so well with my current background.

Photo library I find is an improvement and much less confusing, same with camera, and I think my parents will appreciate too.
Overall better layout imo.

If macOS Tahoe feels really laggy (mouse input delay, high WindowServer CPU, etc.), try disabling third-party utilities that hook into the menubar or window system. In my case, quitting Bartender 6 Beta immediately fixed the issue. Others might also want to test disabling BetterDisplay or Default Folder X.
Seems like some of these apps aren’t fully optimized for Tahoe yet.

iOS 26 Liquid Glass effect is utter trash! Apple's software team must have been on cocaine when they designed this.
The generation who were excited abt windows vista is now in charge of dev team.
To five Microsoft credits - Vista doesn’t look that bad if compared vs this ios 25 shait.

P.s have you seen a new Mail in MacOS? 🙈 time to go Outlook now

As you can see - new keyboard style makes typing far worse for me. Sooo many typos since yesterday evening

iOS 7 was a lot worse than iOS 26.
Nah I disagree. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t a Mac user at the time but iOS7 felt almost futuristic. It was kind of a revelation. I was really digging it.

This…idk. I do like it but I’m already noticing certain UI elements that look cheap and weird, even on this very website. I don’t think they really quite nailed it like they did on iOS7.

Got to say, I am not sure I'd use words as strong as yours but I don't like it at all. I want to turn the liquid glass off for sure. Tat little faint line around the outside just looks like it's a bad design finish. Certainly the worst iOS upgrade for a very long time. I am not sure what they hoped to achieve from it (aside of a glass look, obviously!) It feels like a case of change for the sake of change. I'm not sure this would have got through if Johnny Ive was there.
