I am getting mad at Apple

I am mad too. Why cant the iPhone come in those nice colors like the iPods. I want to buy it in red, pink, blue, purple. I can only choose white or black. The company has totally run amock!

BTW every retail I have been to is fully stocked with those cables. To the point that I thought I was the only one buying an extra.

Puh-leaze, you can buy a simple style case in every color of the rainbow and change the color of your iPhone as often as you like. I'd hardly say making the iPhone in two popular choices qualifies as "run amock". Not everyone wants bright colors. :rolleyes:
 
As a fairly new Apple user I can't help but wonder is this what happens to you after using Apple products for long periods, you become a whiny crybaby? I'm seeing it more and more..

BTW I too am in need of an additional cable but didn't think of starting a thread and crying about it to the internet. I just called a couple stores. I wish you great success.

NO! This is a personality issue, not an Apple user issue. Welcome to the family. :)
 
As I said I went to 5 stores around my location and NONE had the cable. I called them all this morning and NONE of them have received a shipment since last Friday. The stores told me once they get the cables they don’t stay on shelves for more than 1 hour. I tried to order to pick up at store today and all the stores near me say “available for pick up on October 22”. Yes, I can carry the cable with me but it is very inconvenient since I use to charge at home, use the cable to listen to music on my car (you can control “in dash” when you connect the iPhone to the USB in the car), use the cable to charge at work. Thus, all I want is to be able to buy an extra cable. BTW, went to Verizon and ATT stores in my area and NONE had the cable and some of them told me the only iPhone 5 shipments they got was on 09/21 and never more. Again, Apple could have handled their supply chain a little better. I ordered online and it says 2 weeks for shipping.

This thing happens all the time. Stop overblowing the problem like it means Apple is doomed.

Apple has had supply problems in the past too. The Apple TV 2, 60W MagSafes, iPod shuffles, the iPad camera connection kit, iPad Smart covers, earbuds...

Those were all sold out at every store at some point. And that's just the ones I was aware of and can remember.
 
Ya its really too bad about the car thing fortunately I have bluetooth. Mine last all day without charging so i'm good there. Then I set iTunes to allow syncing over WiFi, so that took care of that. So I'm mostly good without the cable. Maybe I Will order one from Apple but I was hoping to use reward zone cash..
 
I always call ahead to verify availability of items.

I also need an extra cable, went to one of my local Apple stores (I have 3) last Thursday afternoon, arriving about an hour after the last USB cable was sold. The day before there had been a wall full. I went home empty-handed.

Saturday afternoon I called the same store, was told they were still sold out and that a different store had cables on Saturday morning. I called that store and they'd sold out that afternoon. No joy on Saturday, either.

The first Apple store is expecting a shipment of items tomorrow (Tuesday) and I plan on calling to see if cables are included in the shipment; they never know shipment's contents ahead of time. Maybe the third time will be the charm.

The point is that this particular item is in high demand EVERYWHERE and supplies are being distributed to all geographical areas in order to be fair. This temporary shortage exists because nobody can use their existing cables for the new iPhones & the situation, while annoying, will be corrected as demand decreases because users are eventually finding supplies.

Patience is required and that's the way it is. Get over it. You're not the only one. :)
 
I had no problems getting an extra cable...

Yes, please unload your stock of the most valuable company ever. I was lucky enough to get in on Apple stock when it was $130 and now I find myself acting like Golem in Lord of the Rings.

So many cry babies on this site it's sad!

haha wow, your mad cuz theyre out of stock of an accessory thats in super high demand right now? tough sh|t pal. i guess King MN7119 is gonna have to wait a few days BOO HOO! :confused:

I'm sure they did anticipate demand. However, it is a new design and it's obvious that supply of the phone itself is short, so I'm sure in the grand scheme of things that is getting priority over the cables. Apple is pretty good about managing a supply chain, and supply issues are a lot better now than they were under Steve Jobs, but it still isn't perfect.

For all we know, they wanted to release the phone later but felt compelled to release it when they did because of the leaks. It does no good for them wait until supply matches initial demand and have phones piling up in warehouses.

Why didn't you order them when apple added them to the website on the 12th? I seriously doubt apple could predict how many cable everyone would be buying. When they were added on the 12th I ordered 5 and had them delivered on the 19th before I even had the phone. But I guess you not thinking ahead is apples problem.

So carrying around a cable is very inconvenient but carrying a square shaped phone is not? I think you should purchase three phones that include the cables so that way you have maximum convenience.

To short Apple now and actually make a buck, you're probably going to have to come up with a much, much better effort than that. ;)

Yes. Ordered the 26th and shipped the 27th. They are coming straight from China so deliver takes some times. Supposed to be here tomorrow. Considering my phone won't get here until the end of the month it's not that big of a deal.
