Put the phone on a hard, flat surface. Lay a thin towel over the phone. Place a large heavy flat book on top of the phone, screen up. Put even pressure on the book until the phone is bent back into shape. Problem solved.

Yes, however there could be a situation with the phone in a front pocket.
If the pocket was deep, and you squatted, your upper front thighs could exert enough force.

no phone would bend under that kind of pressure. Except iphone 5 obviously

I'll be impressed if this works.

I actually did bend it back a little bit but I don't want to go any further . It doesn't really bother me if it did I could just get a bumper but I'm either gonna see if apple will swap it or just keep it till the next one, I upgrade every year anyway

A risky move. 

Whether it's in your front or back pocket as long it's soooooo fit, there's a possibility that your iPhone will bend. but that's really weird having an iphone bent. I'm also wondering whats the cause now. HAHAHAHA. I think you're not using a hard case right?

with this and the scratching on the black model, still convinced the tried and true iPhone 4S design is the better design.
I love stainless steel. Hope they go back to it for the 5S

Or front pocket. Tight pants when setting down will over time cause the iphone 5 to bend. Only time I put a cell phone in my front pocket if that phone is a flip dumb phone. ;) :D

are you serious? So let's review all the "great" advices from people on this board
1. Dont put your iphone into your back pocket
2. Dont put your iphone into your front pocket
3. Dont wear skinny jeans

So in conclusion, people should not buy any jeans if they own an iphone 5.

LOL...yeah, just leave the phone at home and that should take of any problem.

Plastic tends to be more flexible... Would you like some ice for that burn?

Plastic is more flexible, but the internals of the phone aren't. People break or crack their android devices all the time.

The amount of force required to bend your iPhone would likely have damaged some plastic android phone as well. Don't put you iPhone in your back pocket and sit on it. Also, don't put it in a pocket with your wallet or some other object.

Yet this is a complete non issue with other phones including previous iPhones.

My advise would be ALWAYS put the iPhone in your pocket the exact same way. If/when the phone bends then reverse the direction you put it in your pocket. Should fix itself eventually. :)

The previous iPhones would have cracked rather than bent. Most other plastic phones would have had their screen crack and damaged internals.

i've sat couple of times with my iphone in my back pocket and i've never cracked or bent it. And yes, my jeans are pretty damn slim fit. Also i've never heard from anyone how they cracked/bent their phone while seating with it in their back pocket or ever bending it while having it in their front pocket. This issue came to attention only with the iphone 5. It's quite obvious that apple, while trying to make the thinnest phone on the market, completely forgot about making sure that the thin design will actually cope with everyday regular use and not bend like some thailand whore.

iphone 5 bends easier than any other phone I've had.
I treat my phones the same way, and none have ever cracked. I do believe the softer aluminum theory.

again my pants do fit pretty loose,so i'm thinking at some point sometimes the phone goes sideways in my pocket in certain jeans so it would have had to go sideways screen facing towards my leg.

that would probably do it.

I'm going to bet most people have not bent or cracked their phone by sitting with it in their pocket however the amount of force necessary to bend a 5 would likely be enough to damage most other phones as well...they just would bend. I've seen a lot of phones get damaged from seemingly light impacts or force and most were not iPhones.

I wear loose pants but i can see where it would bend if it in the correct place in the pocket. It has actually happened to me a couple times where the phone gets caught up for whatever reason towards the top(opening) of the pocket. When you sit down its right at the 90 angle and gets bent.

Hey is that a crack I see on the lower right volume? My screen started coming off so I took it in and they showed me it was severely bent, I had no idea before this because it would lay flat when it was in its case. I don't have any tight fitting pockets and never put my phone in my back pocket. I do ride my bike with my phone in my front pocket a lot, but thats no excuse for a 600 dollar phone to bend. Only reason why I think this is worth pursuing is because a lot of the phone's Ive seen pictures of have a crack at the lower volume or people have developed a crack there so there obviously has to be a weak point there.
