Vice recognition in general has been in beta forever. There is no reason to believe that all of a sudden Apple has solved the problem. They are not even known for working in this area.

They aren't. Which is exactly why they are using 2 other companies technology to make this work. Nuance and Siri = Apple's Siri. Much of what we will see on the 4s version of Siri Apple had nothing to do with.

You aren't really paying attention are you?

Am I the only one that never had a problem with mobile me?

Honestly my biggest beef with an apple product is Lion. Out of the box it was crap. Took me a week to tweak to my liking. So like a third of the time I would have spent tweaking windows.

Mobile me never gave me any trouble. In fact I think I'll miss it when it is gone.

I agree... it's really more a gimmick than anything. Yes I realize, to some of you anything Apple means God himself created it from love, but to those who hold a realistic view of the world and technology, we know it will not work as well as has been suggested, but whats more, it will be used far less than most people here think it will.

That said, it seems a fun "toy".

it's

in

beta

in

beta

If it's being marketed and I can buy it, then it is no longer in beta. Tada.

Also, wtf is with people on this forum down voting any comment that doesn't praise the hell out of apple?

It's ridiculous. I love Apple products too, the iPhone is amazing, revolutionary, but seriously, allowing differing points of view, respect others takes, accept that there is no such thing as perfection. Please.

There, fixed that for you.

You've apparently never watched a single SciFi show or movie.

It's some strange blind devotion, my take is if I don't have any investment in the company i'm not jumping on a band wagon to support it. I'll wait until the product is actually released...

Not at all, I've used the Siri app and it works very well. I used it last night. Nothing blind here at all.

And I've seen reviews on how they've extended the app to work with native apps and I'm looking forward to it.

Because you are criticizing something you obviously haven't even tried yourself.

Agreed, it might be financially driven... whatever.

And also agreed, I have not used the product.

BUT, I am afforded my opinion just the same, while some might consider it pessimistic, I call it realistic.

I don't downvote people who pop a boner over this stuff.

I don't have a "boner", as you so elegantly put it, over this stuff. I just don't agree with your pessemistic viewpoint. Will it change the world? Probably not. Will it allow me to listen to incomming texts and maybe even send some texts while I'm driving? Probably. Will it speed up my searches because I don't have to try to type everything in? Probably. Is it an improvement over what is available today? Definitely. Is it a step further toward a future where more and more of our technology is voice driven? Yes

So for these reasons I am looking forward to it. I know it will be close to if not as good as they make it out to be, because I've already been using it's predecessor.

I disagree with the extreme nature of your posts and therefore I vote them down. I'm obviously not the only one.

And surely that's basis enough to judge whether it's a short lived gimmick or not? I will reserve opinions until the product is actually released.

Your assumption is wrong and here is why:

1) You know what assuming does
2) You fail at grammar

It should be well not good. Please, pay attention in your English class tomorrow.

Ok, I think you've made an incorrect assumption here. The app has been out since February last year. I have used it longer than just last night. I was just giving an example of how recently I've used it.

And I vote yours down for voting mine down. :D

Regardless, remember, this is the internet, this is a forum... little of what is said here should be taken too closely to heart. I, as you, enjoy apple products, I as you am looking greatly forward to using my iPhone 4s.

You down vote a post because you disagree with the content? This is a prime example of why the down vote feature is worthless. It should be used to down vote irrelevant posts not posts of differing opinions.

Really? I didn't see any rules anywhere stating that. I was under the impression that voting up or down should be based on the quality of the content. I guess we see the voting system differently and unless you can show me directions in this forum stating differently I'll have to assume my way is correct.

Exactly! It should be. Just because you don't agree with the content doesn't mean it isn't relevant. You seem to be basing the quality of a post on how similar it is to your views.
