When I picked up my S8 from the Apple store the guy asked me what phone I had I said 12 and even he said “yeah ain’t worth upgrading” and he was still using a X which he showed me part from the battery the phone worked fine for him it’s becoming harder for people to justify upgrading these days

Don’t get me wrong the upgrades are nice but not worth upgrading over each year

I have a 12ProMax and in all seriousness it's not a bad phone, so I can't justify getting the 14ProMax.
To compensate for fear of missing out, I went ahead and ordered a few Apple cases to last me until 15ProMax, or even 16ProMax.

Hahaha.😉🙃😊

He thinks that because he hasn’t upgraded since the X. I can tell you that coming from a XR that it’s a night and day difference to me. I couldn’t be happier. Also, isn’t the point of an employee to … sell? Yeah nah, don’t buy our products. That makes sense. If you upgrade every year, it isn’t as significant. Totally understandable. But the dude has no idea what he’s talking about as he hasn’t upgraded in almost 6 years. Sounds like he’s just trying to validate himself to random customers instead of giving them insight into possible reasons for upgrading. That’s not even honesty. That’s just bad salesmanship. I wouldn’t want someone like that working for me.

The 12 should be fine for as long as you need it unless you’re wanting the higher refresh rate display … which … after using for only a few days now … makes my XR screen feel like hot garbage. But it’s not a game changing feature if it doesn’t do anything for you. You use what works for you and that’s all that matters.

I did find it strange no sales pitch but I am happy with the 12 likely to replace the battery before I upgrade again

Indeed. It's strange because he's a terrible employee.

You'll be fine with your 12. No reason to upgrade until you actually need to.
