so all the SMSes I send contain the word "Yo"

the problem is, I haven't been able to teach my iPhone that word. I every time I type "yo" it tries to suggest "to" which is annoying and interrupts my tying, anyway I can solve this?

I totally understand because I have needed my iPhone to learn some words I use a lot that don't auto correct before others. Can't think of a specific example, but the iPhone prefers some words over others when auto correcting with certain letter combinations.

My old BB Pearl had the ability to add to its dictionary. Maybe a 2.1 addition? - Simple and very possible.

Where its suggests "to" do you hit the little x next to it? If you do that a few times it will learn that you want to use slang from the 1980s.

This, my friend, is your real problem. Not that I don't ever use "Yo", but to use it in "all the SMSes I send"?!

If I needed someone to address my problem I would've asked on a different type of forum. This is the iPhone section of this forum, where people try and solve your iPhone's problem.

But thanks for your input Dr. Melfi

Its the same thing with "w/" it always autocorrects to "a/"

I should have used a different title to my thread, this is not a "Yo" problem.

it's a general issue many of us go through with many words when typing on the iPhone.

I think it is fair though. Sometimes we have to receive input and feedback from other areas to help us improve ourselves.

Certainly nothing bad can happen to you if you actually made a concerted effort to stop using YO in every single SMS message you send out.

It is actually possibly to properly express one's self even in modern mediums where lazy people think everything has to be shortened abbreviated and condensed.

If I went to a medical forum and asked how to score some heroin, might it not be a reasonable response for someone to suggest I might try just not using heroin?

Or should people only be here to be your own personal shell answer men, just specifically answering whatever question happens to tickle your fancy at the time? I hate to break it to you, that is not how internet forums work.

Activate in your settings the keyboard in Spanish, then when you are going to type that word switch your keyboard to spanish and then yo will have no problema...

Anyone remember when people did this?

I've been doing this in notepad. I've typed "yo" about 50 times and it still corrects it to 'to"

and Jericho, dont listen to some of these people, dude... its obvious some forget it's 2008 and act like the word "yo" is foreign and urban, and actually STILL have opinion about the word.

Is "yo" still "cool"? I thought it was a 90's slang and is passé.
