We haven't fixed it yet. It's definitely still an issue. It seems a combination of Xenforo 1.5 + OS X 10.11.2

I've reported it to Xenforo to see if they can figure it out

Thank you very much. It is really complicated and annoying to change anything in a long post now.

You said you could reproduce it yourself. Does that mean it's happening always to everyone if they try to do the same?
Is it a Safari 9.x issue? Or El Capitan? I have no option to try it with Mavericks or Yosemite at the moment. They are using the same version of Safari now if I am not wrong.

Maybe your post was not long enough that it had a scroll bar. With shorter posts the problem doesn't exist.

am trying this right now in chrome, and...seems ok.

Firefox is also ok. Just installed it to try.

It only started happening on my iMac when I upgraded to 10.11.2 - so seems a new bug.

then still erratic. worked fine in my previous post. let's see how this goes...if it make it longer.

so far so good. scroll bar on the right.......

testing here, further down the window. :D let's see if i can highlight everything or..anything.
i dunno. for me it's all working as expected. right now, no matter what i try: working.

started for me this morning. and have been on 10.11.3 beta for days... so, not OS related (or at least, not caused by an OS update).

Strange that it is working for you now/before and not for me. :(

In think it's a combination of the forum software update on December 19 and the version of Safari. I recognized it first about a week ago. And have been on 10.11.3 since December 16 and on 10.11.2 since the first beta had been released.

Edit:

You're just posting it wrong! :p (If it's a general issue and doesn't happen to you.)

testing 1-2-3. am trying it again, and about to see...how it's doing. so....

no issues at the moment! i can highlight text, delete, etc. earlier today, i had to delete by going back a letter at a time (not fun). right now, all is (still) well...

Same here I can't seem to post anything on certain threads whenever I try to do so the page just refreshes!!!!

When I use the "More Options..." button I have no issues too. If not, it's happening every time when the scroll bar in the text box appears.

@salvator

Are you sure it's refreshing and not just Safari scrolling to the bottom of the website?

personally, i never open the 'more options' window. am just typing in the default window. new day, and about to...highlight all i've typed. and no problems... seems fixed here (or at least, it's behaving the last several times i've typed.

as i expand this window, still works. am i supposed to see scroll bars IN the text box? i don't.
and no issues otherwise....

You are expanding it wrong! :p (Too less) ;)

Your post has to exceed the size/line limit of the box you are typing it in to get a bar for scrolling up and down (not the one of the Safari window). And only then that issues happens.

For example no issue here:

But still here:

that's not the case here, as i was having the problem consistently for a while...with a small, basic text window.

but YES, the issue persists IF i stretch a window until the scrollbars show..as is happening now...

But that was happening just on that one day?

Maybe when it has been only a one day or a few hours issue I did not post in that short period or just can't remember if I was having the same problem with small postings too.

This has still not been fixed and is really annoying if I forget to click on "More Options...". :(
And I forget it always. ;)

This was bug was introduced in the latest safari and seems to happen on other sites too. Hoping someone will fix it
