I regret not going to junior prom but I went to my senior prom and knew I would regret it if I had not. I had a stellar time, after parties were way more awesome than the prom itself.

Never having any friends in high school (or any other time in my life...) I didn't go. Matter of fact, I never went to a single dance in any school. Of course things may have been different had I not waited until I was 37 to go on my date. I don't think missing it ruined my pathetic life anymore than it already is.

Heck, if you know a few people to talk to, I say go.

It'll probably crap but in a fun way. You should go.

I think that old saying "you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did" applies nicely here.

I didn't go to mine.
I'm in my 40s now and here's my take on it, I have to dig back and try to remember its been so long ;)

As I recall I did feel a bit bad during the build up and after the prom, as so many friends/classmates went. I can't say I regretted it, but I can say I missed out on an experience.

After high school, I hadn't given it much thought one way or another, now as I look back the only advice I can give is that if you don't care about some of the excitement that goes on, before/during/after then don't go. True it is a once in a lifetime experience but that doesn't mean you HAVE to do it. There are other once in a lifetime experiences that you may or may not want to do as you move on with your life. As I think about it, now in my 40s, I probably would not have done anything different had I chance to do it over, but that's me

Can't say I miss not going to mine. I can say I think that if I had gone I would have been completely miserable while there.

Honestly, if any of those "multitude of reasons" aren't so much that they will prohibit you from going, I'd say go.

I didn't go to my junior and senior proms and looking back at it and seeing the pictures my friends had, I regret it.

I did go to my girlfriend's (still dating, as of today, 7 years and 3 months) junior/senior proms, but since at that time, her mom was not okay with our relationship and did not allow her to go. We're good now though. LOL.

But yeah, anyways, go.

i didn't go to my prom. i don't regret it.
i spent my time hanging out with friends.

but if you have nothing else to do, why not?

I didn't go to my HS Prom. It was a waste of money, imo. To this day, I don't regret not going.
... because it was so long about for you.

I went to Prom. It was okay. Just rent a hotel for afterward, get hella drunk and do something with one of your friends you'll feel awkward about the next morning. That's how my proms have gone and I don't regret them at all.

I didn't go to either of my high school proms (junior, senior) and didn't regret it at all. Instead, I hung out with friends and we played games and watched movies all night. To me, that was more fun than standing around at a prom crowded with lots of other students and having to yell over the music to have a conversation with my group of friends.

You didn't go to prom, yet you know how it would have gone? Prom is about hanging out with your classmates, only this time everyone is really nice and dressed well. After prom is the fun part where you go party hopping and get laid.

That's what it's all about? I know I didn't go, dressed like a hobo, probably got high & drunk and pleasured myself twice at a minimum - and saved some money.:p Seems like only yesterday.

Never really cared about going or not, but of course girls will always be very persuasive....

I went, had a blast, went with a girl who was dating another guy, have now been dating her 3 years.

Go to prom.

I went to prom my junior year only. I think my mom had more fun getting me all dressed up in a ridiculous $500 dress than I had going to the thing...

I didn't go to my junior prom or senior ball... I do regret it, but mostly because I missed out on being able to share memories of it with people. Plus I helped make the video that was shown at senior ball :p But I don't regret not spending the money, plus dances really aren't my thing.

I say if you can afford it, go- nothing ventured, nothing gained, and there's really nothing to lose.

I heard how it went.

It was just like a crowded noisy school dance, except students were wearing fancier clothes.

In hindsight, I preferred my night with friends instead.

i didn't go, prom is overrated and i don't worry you have plenty of time in college to go to dances and that other crap
