Numbering scheme = Annual iPhone updates

The whole reason Apple uses a numbering scheme is to encourage everyone to buy a new device every year. They call it the iPhone X (ten) for a good reason. Not "ex" because that breaks continuity.

So yes, there will be an update. The camera needs updates. Battery, water resistance, A12, 4GB RAM.

The GPU on the A11 isn't massively different compared to A10 because this is Apple's first attempt at an in-house GPU design. They probably erred on the side of caution. I would expect a larger performance increase next year.

The A11 is a big difference vs A10. Try any hard core app or even AR apps and you will see the difference.

At the very +least+ it was have a component update, like an "S" variant. The usual suspects of CPU/GPU, Camera(s), LTE, maybe something charging related. It will be physical the same externally, with possibly an additional finish or two.

We've already had rumours that there will be a regular and plus sized oled iPhone, and a cheaper plus size LCD (simplified X design with no home button and reduced (but not eliminated) bezels?) - seems that there will be no 4.7 iPhone next year, so I guess we'll have:

8/+
'9'
XI and XI+
and maybe an SE (just bumped to A11 with better camera)

For those who don't want a plus size phone, you'll be able to choose between the 7, 8 or XI

No. They are going to announce two new iPhone's next year with 6.5 inch OLED and 6.1 LCD display and of course updated version of iPhone X.
