you cant get the coffee for free elsewhere. Weak point

you know he's just making fun of you right?....

anyways, the analogy actually could work. the daily isn't just any old "news", they have their own reporters that write exclusive articles, stories etc like a magazine. So they have their own unique flavor.

"News" can be like any "drink". It all fills the same basic need. The Daily can be like coffee. A specific drink that you particularly like that in your opinion may be superior to just water or even juice!

But anyway, if you like the daily's style then pay them for it. If you think about it $40 bucks a year is actually 11 cents a day for a whole new magazine/newspaper. When you think about it that way, $40 a year is actually quite a steal, especially when you consider the hundreds of peoples salaries that go into writing articles for you every day.

I would try zite, pulse, and flipboard.

I would consider paying for NYTimes content before paying for The Daily.

Ill never understand why people pay for news, especiially with all the great free news apps. CNN, Huffington post, Pulse, USA Today, and the biggest source for ANYTHING....THE INTERNET!!

But hey...whatever floats your boat

As a journalist, that hurts.
But hey in 10 years time when all you have is crappy citizen journalism to rely on feel free to enjoy the unverified information which passes for news ;)

Anyway I digress, if I were you if you don't like the daily, don't subscribe. Their are loads of other sources, some free some paid for, find the one you like and trust and go with it ;)

Pretty sure that was exactly my point.

Anything that's free is going to be in Google. If you don't like Google, you won't like the free alternatives.

Flud, download it problem solved. You will forget you ever knew The Daily ever existed.

I personally like the Daily (and paid the year fee). If you like the presentation and articles, give the 99 cents per week a shoot and see if you think it's something you want long term.

I have no problem paying for news. I pay for the WSJ, and will as other subscriptions become available. I want these news sources to develop commercially viable ways to survive -- and if that's charging me, charging me and doing ads, or just ads, I'm all for it.

Man, WSJ and The Daily. News Corp has you guys by the balls. Haven't read the WSJ recently, but I hope it hasn't sunk too bad since the acquisition.

I signed up for the Daily and I think it is worth a buck a week. Once I have a better feeling that they will make it long term, I will pay for the entire year and save 12 bucks. I update in the morning and read it on bus.

I'm 2 weeks past my trial end date fir the daily yet I still get new issues every day and I'm not subscribed or anything. I think there is a bug in their app.

I love the feeling of a proper explusion especially after a high fiber day but the task of eating lots of bread, natural grains, and other high fiber laden foods in a busy day is tough.

I don't get this post. If you don't want to pay for it. Then delete it. If you want to keep reading it. Then pay for it. It really is a simple answer to your problem. Why do we make problems more difficult.

Not really; you just missed it.

The Daily's content is not available on Google. NEWS is available on Google, but that isn't the same thing. If it was, you wouldn't have posted this question.

"The Daily" equals Fox News propaganda, why would I want that?

Uh, how do you figure?

I downloaded the App and its amazing. I do not want to pay $40 a year for something I can get for free by going on Google. What do you suggest I do?

$40 per year is 11 cents per day. If you can't afford that there are bigger issues at play here.

I will pay 99 cents a week to try it out. Funny how people complain about 40 dollars for what seems to be a news magazine subscription but don't have a problem dropping 40 bills on a freaking piece of plastic to cover an iPad.

Some talented people are working on content for this app. They deserve to get paid. Especially if you "love it"

Don't go large on two meals and you've got yourself a weeks worth of daily app content lol.

Uh, how do you figure?

It's own by Rupert murdoch the same guy who owns fox news and has all the republican canidates on their pay roll. Faux news
