I feel bad for laughing when I watched the video. I just didn't know when the part of you dropping it was coming. Sorry about that. Just get a case, and you won't even notice it.

Im really really really sorry.

That said, I LMFAO.

Edit: You are very lucky. How did that screen not shatter? Not bad. Put a case on it!!!

don't feel bad for laughing I even laughed when I saw the video again.

I do still feel like a idiot for dropping it but oh well.

If it happened to me the first day I got the phone, I'd return it and..ahem..."swap" it out for a different color. Because you never really did like the white one, right?

I have a hard time lying about stuff like that, humm maybe I will try though.

How long do I have to return it for another color?

And they wouldn't see the damage....okay.

Confucius say: Naked iPhone = sad day soon come

When I got my 2G iPhone, I immediately put it in a sticky rubber case, and haven't dropped it once.
Conversely, every single person I know with a naked iPhone - whether 2G or 3G - have dropped theirs,
some repeatedly. Go figure...

Honestly you did yourself a favor. Now you won't treat your iPhone like glass. I was so careful for the longest time then I did what you did, and now I'm so much better off. I'm not afraid to put it down on pavement or toss it here and there. Now you don't have to worry about it, and you can use and enjoy it without all the stress.

Excellent rationalization. Its wrong but if that works for you :D

Well ill try tomorrow or Sunday, if it works than that would be great, if not its not to bad.

Btw, looking at the video I can't believe how fast I picked it up, when it happened it seemed like it was sitting on the ground forever.

that was like driving past a nasty car accident...
I knew what I was in for, yet I couldn't look away

sorry dude

better luck next year

Two years, and two iPhones, and not once did I ever come close to dropping any of them, but today, only a couple of hours I managed to drop my 3G S on asphalt, and scratched up the plastic and chrome :(. Luckily I did not scratch the screen, but I still feel like crap, it really ruined my day.

I just uploaded the video right now, I will have it up here. There are also some test pictures on there.

When filming it feels like it could fall so easily. or maybe im just paranoid. if that happened to me, on my first day, i would be an emotional wreck.

Case it

Everyone watching this- Put a case on your iPhone. It will save your ass one day...

iPhone 2g, couple of different cases tried out. Hard leather case.
iPhone 3g, couple of different cases tried out. Hard leather case.

Thought I wouldn't find another hard leather casemate. Then after prowling in the Apple Store, popped in to AT&T in the neighborhood. Voila, they had one for AT&T by, you guessed it Casemate.

iPhone 3GS, no bothering with any case. Took the hard leather case.
Thing is in better shape than the first one used with the 2g.

No matter how careful it seems inevitable to make a drop. Each one fell at least three times. Last week, the 3g started to fall and my arm went out to catch it and literally "pushed" it in the air three feet, into the wall.

After each one suffered falls, there was no damage whatsoever. Yesterday I sold the 3G in white. Guy looked at it and was impressed how pristine it was and asked me how. I said I kept in a case. He said do you have it. I said no. (It wasn't listed or shown in the pictures.)

The first thing after doing a restore with the 3GS, right into the, you guessed it:

the hard leather case.

When I saw this video I felt bad for the guy. No case = risk.
Not worth it. And at resale it makes a big difference.

I attached a frame by frame, you can see my glasses falling off, and the "oh ****" look on my face :p
