I dropped my new 3G S....... While Recording...... And I Got The Video...

Damn, sorry about the drop.

That sound hitting the ground turned my stomach.

Hope for a speedy recovery.
 
is it just me or when it came close to 2:20 i started looking away with a sick feeling in my stomach?

I feel for you OP, try to find peace in it somehow, forget the haters, we can't help how we love our iphones and obsess over it.
 
Well I'm typing this on my brand new black 3G S! The guy at the apple store didn't even notice it (or didn't care), he even used the phone to make sure the serials matched. The guy was somewhat of a jerk and lectured me on how the main account holder needs to be the one that buys the phone even though the brea apple store let me buy it as a autherized user on the account.

Anyways I'm happy :D

How'd you pull that off? Went in there, told the guys you dropped it, trashed it, sanded it, used a dremel, buffed it, and want a new one?

The only time I appreciate the phone's shape is when I take out the case (use always whenever I go out) and use it at home (which is 90% carpet).

Haha, I was cringing at 2:18. xD

Cases are alright, but the Apple designers worked so hard to create a beautiful, slick, phone. I hate to cover it up with some plastic crap.

screen protectors are no use, the screen usually cracks before you get a scratch in it.

I do recommend invisibleshields however because they cover the back. I had one of those on my old iPod touch 1g that i sold, and it was in perfect condition since i installed the invisibleshield right after opening the iPod

no :p, I did rig up some little thing that should help with this in the future, I'm going to make a post showing it later tonight.
