Clearly you know nothing about making a signature design. Which is why you aint a designer at Apple one of the most successful companies of all time.
[doublepost=1507218819][/doublepost]The iPhone X makes the Pixel 2 look ancient as hell. Wasted bezel on front facing speakers who are those really for? Most people on commutes use headphones, who is blaring music from their phone directly?? lool poor design.

I could poop on a chanel bag. Doesnt make it a signature design and how would simply making it black with white font waste any space and i also said nothing about the speakers. Oh and yep the Pixel 2 looks like crap too. Like some plastic 200€ phone

I'm also somebody who doesn't mind the notch at all, and happens to think most of the comment against it here is hysterical and not shared by 97% of people.

I don't know what I'd make of a completely featureless phone - just a slab of glass - but I'd bet my last dollar you'd get people here lining up to moan about how bland it looks. Some people just like to whine.

Not to mention the majority of iPhone users who never will frequent a tech site to even understand the purpose behind the notch or any other smart phone feature that they likely doesn't know even exist. The average consumer chooses the color/storage of what they want and purchases the phone. That's literally it for most.

90% of you in here are going to pay $300 more for that notch and 2 amazing features: No Touch ID and Face ID to scan yourself for the NSA, FBI, CIA.

too funny. Making you pay them to subvert you. LOL

What does this have to do specifically with the Pixel? Shouldn't it just be "all other phones that don't have a notch"?

I think some people were expecting the new Pixel to go towards the mostly full screen design trend right now. What they released looks pretty dated already due to the large bezels/chins.

Ok, I guess the title of this thread is just odd. It gives the impression the notch is the reason they like the X, not the edge to edge display.

It just keeps growing on me more and more. I have no doubt that eventually the Notch™ will become everyone's envy. It's iPhone's new signature, new unmistakable silhouette. Long live the Notch™!!

Please report to the hospital as soon as possible as you may have suffered a brain injury. o_O

The notch itself isnt the issue, the execution is simply dumb as hell. They could easily make the whole area black and have the signal bars etc appear in white instead to make it „even“

Agreed and if they want to use the notch as a trademark or for marketing they could keep it as is on the lock screen or in augmented reality type apps but black it out elsewhere in the UI where it hinders instead of helps.

The notch is like a permanent photobomber.

Devices should get out of the way of the content. They should disappear so that people can get immersed in the content. I thought that was the point of getting rid of bezels. It seems Apple has trouble with that notion. The notch to me is a watermark. And it’s worse than bezels because it actively intrudes on the screen and causes major layout issues.
