Yeah.... Hav e you ever tried to get a grant from his foundation? Have you ever discovered what the requirements are once you get a grant from his foundation? Have you ever noticed how the grant process to his foundation works?

I guess not. I have. Its not pretty. Its designed to help the causes that fit his profile and help his own goals.

Since you seem to know all these hidden conditions, why not share them with us? It's easy to say how bad something is when you don't have to give any facts.

I don't know about y'all but these "Apple is now Microsoft" comparisons are really getting old

Too true, since they're not very accurate. "Apple is now Sony," that's what I'm talking about.;) Proprietary everything, ignoring standards, my way or the highway mentality and finally, form over function. Although Apple does a better job of designing than Sony. Apple is the new, improved Sony.:p

Yeah... that's pretty much how private donation funds work. I do a lot of organizational overhead for charities and I can tell you that 97.329% of privately funded charitable funds won't just toss money at whatever issue they are approached with. They have to feel like they are spending their money wisely as well. It's not like the Nazi party of Canada is going to fill out some online form from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation then in 2-6 weeks receive a cheque for $50M to fund their new Synagogue flame-thrower. Checks and balances are always a good thing as far as charity is concerned.

I thought it was particularly common knowledge that Bill Gates is one of the nicest dudes around?
