This is not my opinion just one of the Church but I am sure people could care less if they are not Christian.

Keep your faith off the iPhone boards. There's a community board at the bottom of the list, where you can "God" it up all you like in there.

Some people go pretty far to make sure property is returned to their rightful owner. I saw this article and remembered this thread. This guy spent a ginormous amount of time analyzing photos of the lost camera to zero in on the owner, even going as far as magnifying pictures to identify hotels and locales to get more clues.

It made the original owner very happy. Probably as much as the girl loved getting her iPhone back.

I have been thinking about this situation alot. No going to make judgement on whether the OP is telling the truth or just bowing to pressure, but I do hope that it is true for the sake of a bad deed turned good.

But as I think of it I think what I would have done. As a younger person (I am 30 now) lets say 16 and under, I know for a fact I would not have given it back. I would have tried to sell it and been perfectly fine with it. But at that age, I had also not experienced what it was like to lose or have something stolen that had value to me. Up to that point I really still had not learned the value of an earned dollar so I would have figured I just came up and been done with it.

But as I got older, late teens into adulthood, certain situations and experiences have taught me what would be the correct course of action. I am not a righteous person and everyone takes their own course but I now know after several instances what it is like to lose something valuable either by my own doing or by theft and I do not like the feeling. Also as an adult it is a lot more gratifying to make my own purchase and know that I earned my new toy instead of it just being given to me or finding it somewhere.

In all, lets hope the OP learns one of 2 lessons. Either to really make an effort to get property back to those and not just be half hearted about it. Or not to come on the internet thinking its cool to make up a story. Either of those would be fine with me. =)

I will express my opinions anywhere I wish. If they have to do with God or anything else. It is to bad it bothers you so much that I do. If you do not agree then you have every right to express that as well and I would never presume to say you can not.

Not if the mods have their way. Religious material isn't really appropriate for the on topic forums.

The community forums are over there...

P.S. to everyone and the O.P.

This thread pissed me off because I knew the 5th Ave store would never say something so ridiculous.

I called today and pretended to have the same scenario as the OP. As I expected, they said I was welcome to come down and have them scan the serial number if I was serious about returning it to its original buyer. I thought so.

You, the OP, can consider yourself a liar and thief.

FYI: I do not believe for a SECOND that it was returned to the original buyer. What a terrible afterthought/ attempt to save face on a blog.

It's not about me. Go read the forum RULES. There's a place for religion, and it's NOT in this section. Shall I copy and paste them for you?
