You're not an idiot if you do something that you want to do, with your own money and time, and it doesn't affect anyone else.

Anyone that says you are, well, they're just being a tool.

Do what you want, when you want, as long as it doesn't affect another in a negative manner.

I just bought 2 more iPhone 4's. One was on contract w/ vzw, the other I picked up on amazon, no contract. Personally, for me, the IP 4 is great. It does all I need at the present time.

But, I always like to leave myself some options. My line has an upgrade waiting because I bought a 32 gig on amazon for $450. I added a new line to get one switched over from ATT, I bought at Bestbuy and purchased the buyback program. If the announcement comes, I'm ready.

So, it doesn't really matter at this point. I am anxiously awaiting what the new iPhone brings, but the current iPhone is just fine and worth it.

If you like your phone then you're not an idiot.

You'd be an idiot if you hated it and kept it anyway. ;)

..just checked my upgrade pricing and after about 13 months, ATT STILL wants $549 plus a new 2 year contract. They sure aren't cutting me any breaks, that's for sure. I can get a new unit off ebay for another $50 and keep my existing contract.

I'll bet they don't get a lot of takers with those prices. I'd rather pay the ETF and GTFO of my contract with them.

It is a nice phone if u wanted it then you should be enjoying it and not worrying about future releases :p, technology will always change hehe

No, if you needed a phone and you’re happy with it, then why would you be.

You’d be an idiot if you bought a droid and thought you needed to come to the iPhone forums to tell us about it.:)

has an iphone ever come out right after a keynote?

That's a nice observation. Now can you show me your proof that there won't be one.

Note: I'm not saying there will be one, in fact I'm not saying there "will be" anything because I don't know, nor do you.

You're misunderstanding. They may announce the iphone and release date (for June or July) on Monday, but the chances are very close to 0 that it will actually be released for sale on Monday after the speech. People use the terms "announced" and "released" too interchangeably here.

There are several other phones available that are better than the very outdated iPhone4. HTC Sensation or HTC EVO-3D, Nexus-S, any number of Android phones are the better purchase.

I haven't been keeping up with macrumors till lately, I figured since the white iphone was released recently that apple was going to wait till 2012 for iphone 5.. bad move I bought one so late?

You're not an idiot, but that wasn't the smartest move.

I would've waited, personally speaking. I still use my iPhone 3G since the first day i got it in '08. It's running on life support, but it's been an amazing phone running nearly '07 specs. I'm very satisfied.

However i'll be upgrading to the iPhone 5, which will have an A5 chip. I would think that, that itself makes it very powerful for longevity (unless Quad core comes along).
I believe you can still return your iPhone 4 and keep your hardware upgrade within 15days. I would do that knowing that in September you'll be getting a brand new iPhone with the latest specs and it's optimized with the latest OS.

Very outdated? That's a bit of a stretch don't you think? Apple could release one every 6 months, but people would be pissed. Further, it's not until the end of a cycle when the other phones start catching up to the iPhone anyhow.

Also, X phone running android might have a dual core processor, or double the RAM, but they way iOS manages itself and works with the iPhone is quite seamless so just because a phone has higher tech specs doesn't necessarily mean that it will run smoother.

Would an upgrade be nice, sure, but calling it "very outdated" is somewhat of an ignorant statement.

Oh, let's not go there... again.

I used Android and even with all their dual cores and high ram they still lag. If I had to pick, I'd pick the iPhone 4 over the Sensation or Evo 3D. Android is extremely laggy and lacks updates. I don't think the high specs do it any justice.

I hated my HTC Inspire, sold it on eBay for $310, bought a shiny new white iPhone 4 and AppleCare on Thursday for $288 after adding a line. Made money and got a phone I like, not a bad move in my eyes.

I like the design of the 4. I like the white. I like the fact that they've got it to the point now where it is stable and working having been released for a while. If there is a new iPhone released that intrigues me, yes, I can return this iP4 and get it. However, I have a feeling it won't, and as long as my iP4 runs iOS5, I'll be satisfied.

Just my $0.02.

No. Your fine. I honestly don't think that the iPhone won't be a huge upgrade... Anyways like everyone else said... You have a 30 day return thing with AT&T. So if it does happen to be released in a few days, and you would rather have that instead of the 4; then go ahead and return it. plus the iP4 can run iOS 5 anyways...

The smartest thing you could do, after having just got the new iPhone 4 is to stay away from these iPhone forums. Trust me, you'll be much happier with your phone.
